What do you mean by "house battery switch"? Are you talking about the battery disconnect switch (salesman switch) located near the entrance door?
Battery explosions are typically caused by a conventional flooded lead acid battery being over-charged to the point that it is venting hydrogen fumes. The fumes are then ignited by a electrical spark.
If your chassis battery is good, then it will supply all the circuits you need to drive the coach. Be sure to secure or disconnect any loose battery cables to avoid any chance of a short circuit.
