Re: What is this little gem Reply #1 – September 24, 2022, 11:13:11 am It's the solenoid that should be affixed to the back of your transmission retarder accumulator Quote Selected

Re: What is this little gem Reply #9 – September 24, 2022, 12:11:55 pm Thanks all. I found where it screws into that accumulator with a nipple. It's strange, since there are 2 lines going to it- that it must have been loose forever. There is no way that it could back itself out and not have those lines get messed up. I'm cleaning it up and will remount it. Quote Selected 1 Likes
Re: What is this little gem Reply #10 – September 24, 2022, 12:37:17 pm The only way to screw this back on, would be to dismantle the 12 volt part or remove the CAC pipe Quote Selected
Re: What is this little gem Reply #11 – September 24, 2022, 12:45:49 pm You can lower the accumulator as we all had to do that to modify the mount for it. Quote Selected 1 Likes
Re: What is this little gem Reply #12 – September 24, 2022, 01:25:33 pm That accumulator looks a little more than my strength can endure. What is in the guts of the 12 volt valve? Quote Selected
Re: What is this little gem Reply #13 – September 24, 2022, 02:28:46 pm Floor jack, block of wood and remove the bolts to the bracket leave the hose hooked up and lower just enough to put in your valve. Unless yours is different from my '99. Quote Selected 1 Likes

Re: What is this little gem Reply #15 – September 25, 2022, 09:46:49 am Maybe you can at least see how the valve came out without turning. Are the threads gone on the nipple or the ones in the accumulator? That is going to have to be addressed. Quote Selected
Re: What is this little gem Reply #16 – September 25, 2022, 10:25:23 am Threads are fine. I could have threaded the whole business back together but the 12 volt actuator hits the CAC pipe. Thus, I asked if anyone has removed that 12 volt unit as to what is inside that valve. If I could remove that, without stuff falling apart, I can screw it together. Quote Selected
