Replace sofa with chair on slideout

Rockey would like to replace the sofa that sits on the slideout in our 2003 U320 with a comfortable chair. And, of course, add a small desk, etc.
I am pretty sure I have read posts about this, but after 40 minutes of Searching, I give up. Where is Michelle? She has the touch of finding old posts.
The slide platform is only 27" wide. So will any comfortable chair fit? Ideas? I think I saw where someone had constructed a semicircular support that extended out a few inches to provide an additional surface.
We are going to replace the carpet in the front area with vinyl planks and want to replace the jack knife sofa.
We haven't done much traveling lately, but we aren't dead. ;-)

A piece of plywood can be added to extend the slide. Add engineered wood with the proper stair nose for a professional look

This may not be the type of thing you are thinking of, but we replaced the sofa with theatre seating. Instead of extending the slide with plywood or something else (that was our first thought), we attached the seats to the slide and put casters under the part that extended past the slide. When the slide moves the casters roll on the flooring we installed. You might be able to do the same with a recliner or other chair. Another option we considered was to attach blocks to the section of the seats that overhang, with heavy felt under the blocks to protect the flooring when the slide moves.

Thanks for the ideas. I'm hoping to make one of them work.

Here's what I did...4" ball bearing casters.  No reinforcements.  Works great.
