Exterior calk/silicon alternative

I'm cleaning up the exterior of the rig and before I go too hog wild with an orbital buffer, I'd like to clean up (aka remove) the silicon sealing the horizontal trim piece above the fenders and where the end caps meet the body. What have you guys found that holds up well under the sun and goes on clear?

I have found Lexel to be a good durable clear adhesive sealant.  More difficult to tool than silicone though.

I'll second that on the Lexel being difficult to tool.  I think silkaflex is a good alternative. 

  When I redid our belt line caulking I used two different types.  One side was one recommended by the counter person at sherwin Williams store.  That side is sealing just fine,, but it's a dirt magnet. Needs cleaned way more often and is harder to clean. 

  I think the other side was silkaflex and the dirt just falls off.    It's been a few years.

Same with regular old Silicone. It actually is holding up pretty well but gets dirty really fast. Super easy to clean with a pressure washer but I'd like something that doesn't look so grody half way through a summer trip.

I like Lexel for sealing joints: I will be interested if it will stay clear or get dirty over time.
My favorite glue is Gorilla glue construction adhesive (caulk tube) it's clear.
