Need new res fridge

Samsung RF18 has died. Need to put in new res fridge, anything but a Samsung. Just wondering what other brands anyone has used.

Mine has a jen-air and works great and has for 12+ years. Runs good on inverter.

Probably more about refrigerator cut-out dimensions than brands.

"Probably more about refrigerator cut-out dimensions than brands." And how you will get the old one out and the new one in.

Jo Ann had picked out a refrigerator, only to discover that it came in right-hand door only, with no ability to switch it. We ended up with a Whirlpool that has worked well for eight years or so.

What exactly died? If it's just not keeping a cool temp but otherwise seems to work, it may be repairable.

I installed a Bosch side by side, counter depth unit about 10 years ago. Its on 24-7, never one problem.
I removed the two fridge doors and everything inside. After removing the hand grab by the door and the passenger seat, my wife and I were able to wrestle it in. I have a 95 U320 with the narrower front door and it still managed to fit through the door frame.
Total weight of the fridge is over 300#.

Our LG was great. Kenmore is good with fridges made by others including GE (Daewoo) Front loader LG wash/dry is absolutely the best. Bought ours used many years ago. Still looks new, works like new.

We have a Kenmore made by Daewoo in the house. The control board went bad after 3 years and it's almost impossible to find parts for it. Just ordered a new Samsung last night... it's one of the better rated fridges I could find and I know I can at least get parts. A Black Friday deal knocked the price down from $3500 to $2200.

When we bought ours, I checked online and there seem to be a lot of suppliers of parts for Daewoo fridges. Example: Buy Daewoo FR-4506 N spare parts  General Electric (Daewoo) is a pretty reliable appliance maker.

What model of the Bosch did you install?  Did you have to do any modifications to the coach to install it?

When I was looking I researched a lot of brands and this one came up tops at the time.  I talked to the factory reps and really got a good feel for this unit.  Check it out.

Thanks for all your thoughts guys. I have installed two in the past, so am well aware of sizing, etc. Most interested in brands that have worked well.

How long have you had it and do you know which part failed? We've had ours for over four years and it still works perfectly.

I installed Model# B20CS80SNS/01

I already had to rebuild the kitchen area due to a fire from the original 12v/propane unit burning up.
I built a heavy duty platform to place the refrigerator on and allow room underneath for the Dirt Devil vacuum system and the hose storage. I then built the walls on each side of the fridge and added a vented top piece for air flow, not really required. I built a narrow cabinet for the left side of the refrigerator to the pocket door. Nothing major as far as construction but I had a open canvas to work with.

It often comes down to the cabinet size......  If you have 36" then you can find lots of choices of counter depth 24" deep options.
But if your coach wall are only 33" like my floor plan, then in 2015, I had 1 choice.  Samsung 18 cuft.  If I had wanted to waste the space, or add a side storage area, then I could have dropped down to 24" units.

I have looked recently, and found there are other 33" options now on the market.  When or if my Samsung fails, then I will go with the other 33" wide counter depth option.

New Samsungs don't have handles- gives you a few more inches. Ours works great

What are the Samsungs' failure mode(s)?
Our 8 year old Samsung failed about 7 months ago.  We haven't replaced it yet, so interested in this thread.  Our story linked below:

The "Fridge Warm, Freezer Cold" syndrome is a common one and unless you want to pull the inside back off the freezer to get at the ice, we just unplug the fridge for four hours with a fan in the freezer and it's good for months. A freezer left open just a little bit collects a lot of ice around the fan, making noise and eventually stopping the fan entirely.

Our U295 has a Fisher & Paykel 17.6 cu. ft. counter depth, installed in 2012.  Seems like a nice unit.

Why not put in a new board the original could have been defective? Lot's less work.
