Camera and monitor replacement - how to install new Fookoo camera?

I just purchased a "Fookoo" backup camera and side cameras along with their monitor to replace the original camera in my 98 U320. My intentions are to EVENTUALLY replace the audit with a seelevel system for my water level monitors but for now I am utilizing the audit system which still works. The new system supports 4 cameras. My thoughts were to connect the 3 cameras directly to the monitor and take the out from the audit and connect it to the fourth camera input. Then using the switch on the dash, change the view from the audit to the tanks and that will show up on the monitor on the 4 way split screen which shows all four inputs in a split screen configuration. Will this work??? Also the wiring (pics shown) are all 4 pin aviation type plugs. Can I just simply get a Bnc to 4 pin adapter and connect the rear camera using this and reuse the existing cable front to back on the coach? I just do not want to run another cable if possible. If this works I would need another connector to come from the audits to the monitor for the tanks as well. The cameras get their power via the cables to the monitor. Any advise would be appreciated

I would be interested in your thoughts on this system. I have been researching for a while and have been leaning towards this one.

They tell me it is a much better quality since it is used by fleet vehicles and military. The biggest reason may be support?

As far as your question. Most of these monitors I have seen have just camera specific inputs. Only a few I have seen have an AUX input for a standard video input. I do not know what format the audit system outputs.
Not sure if your has one or not.

I will let you know my verdict when I install. Because my Intentions is to hook the three cameras directly to the wiring for the monitor they should not be an issue providing I can either
1. Use the existing rear camera cable with an adapter. ( which I REALLY want to do). Or
2. Run another wire front to back.

And then use the output video from the audit to the fourth camera input wire and use the dash switch to show the tank levels only. This would mean in 4 way split screen mode 2 side cameras and rear camera as well as the tank and lp levels from the audit

I did similar. I had the stock Panasonic camera. If your existing cable has at least 4 wires you can re-use the cable. 2 wires will carry the video signal and 2 wires will be +-12vdc. I had to cut an splice on connectors. I put a dual camera at the back, one pointed at the hitch and one with a wider view pointed back. I have a switch near the ignition that I use to switch between the 2 signals. I ended up using one of these to switch the video signal. I ended up replacing my stereo head unit and put the audit system as a video input there. Actually I installed the SeeLevel system already so I don't really need this other than I haven't run the sensor for the propane tank yet.

I picked up one of their 4 camera DVRs on ebay for a great price. I have a couple of their cameras and the system has worked great. I bought cameras to install on the sides of the coach but I have not done that yet. If I can get them painted I will probably do it. The DVR system has a GPS and it is possible to get cloud connectivity through RVS to view cameras and coach location but all that requires you to have continuous internet. It works great when parked next to the house. Theoretically when we travel we could monitor the coach if away and we have our Starlink setup. The DVR records in a continuous loop so you have incident recording if you were to get in an accident.

I recently replaced the stock panasonic camera with the amtifo wireless backup camera and 10" monitor. I will get around to replacing the javelin soon.

Hardest part is getting to the camera as apparently my arms are shorter than the factory tech that installed it.

Nice that the running light wiring is within inches so splicing was a easy.

My only reservation with these cheaper Chinese cameras is the potential of failure and having to take the panel off again.

Let us know down the road how that setup works out.

Charlie,

While many have Japanese sensors, the cameras are almost always made in China. The home security systems you find at Costco, Home Depot, internet all have 12V cameras. Easy to add a hard drive, internet connection so can be used for dash cam, security cam and optional remote access. 5mp cameras have excellent resolution and can be installed with a single ethernet cable so no other power supply is needed. We put several in my son's home and are doing our house and coach this spring. When he is visiting, he just opens the app on his iPhone and can see who is at his front door, kids bedroom, etc.

These are all relatively inexpensive components depending on how extensive you want to make it.

Thanks for all the responses.
I require some advice on the camera connections and the javelin output
The original rear camera has one output on it which then is spliced to have several outputs, if that makes any sense. The first two photos are of the camera then the bundle of wires ( and a red wire that is spliced on)
I really would like to use the existing cable to the front but the whole wiring thing is confusing. The new rear camera has a 4 pin female cable from it for connections to the included 20 meter cable which I do not want to use and string through the coach..I want to use the existing cable in the coach. The 4 pin connectors provide audio,video, positive and negative all in one.
To be clear, I want to run the new camera through the existing cable right to the 4 camera cable connections (camera one) which attaches directly to the monitor. The side cameras would be cameras two and three and the output cable from the javelin box would be camera 4 ( for my tanks level and LP). I would then use the 4 way split screen for viewing all at once
What kind of audio adapters do I require. Are they the ones I have attached in links?

I installed the same/similar FooKoo ( I laugh a little at that name every time) system about 3 years ago. I had the same intention to re-use the wiring, but I just couldn't make it work. I tried to feed a "standard" video single into the monitor from a old camera. I could see that it was receiving something but it couldn't generate a picture. Seems to be a different signal format; maybe the HD is the difference. I ended up running the Fookoo wire all the way. I fished it through the square steel tube that joins the roof to sidewalls. I used an electrician's fish tape. It was tricky to get it through.

The picture is great, color, hi res. Sometimes the monitor goes blank and then comes back on; might be just a wiring issue.

I also install a Fookoo camera system in my coach, I've been very pleased with the system. I ran the new wires, wasn't difficult using a wire fish. I chose to install both of my cameras on the back, one view of the tow hook up and the other is my rear view mirror.

I need to replace my camera system on my 2002 U320.. I like what everyone is doing with the Fookoo system - can someone elaborate on fishing new wires? Where are the "ends" of the square tube everyone is pulling the wires through?

I admit I have not torn mine apart yet, waiting for warm weather. Just trying to plan everything out :-)

It should be one of the auto reset breakers that is located behind the kick panel in front of the passengers seat. Seems like it is around #42 or 43 but I would have to go out and pull a print to be sure.

Thanks. It is 43. I disconnected and reconnected. At a total loss with my new monitor/camera set up. Cameras work fine it the tank display that does not. Checked my connections and fiddled around with them. No joy. Took out the constant power box ( as suggested) and am running the power/ground for the monitor through those power sources. As far as I have read in the forum THE ONLY attachment for the javelina shud be a Bnc to rca adapter and then to a 4 pin plug-for my monitor.
The pics show what I get from camera 4 just shady lines. I did put the old crt in line again with the constant power box just to make sure the pic was there...and it was.
What the heck am I missing???

I have been posting and posting trying to find solution to my Fookoo camera and monitor woes but am throwing the towel on one of the items
I seem to have found the camera monitor system does NOT accept signal from the javelina system ( which mine works just fine) it will work with the cameras. I purposely bought the 4 camera monitor system so I could mount a rear, 2 side cameras and the fourth for the tanks. The monitor uses an NTCS signal which I do not believe the monitor supports
Alas... I think this will not work
Has anyone had this experience and could provide some thought it??

Apparently I believe not. Others have successfully Hooked their javelina system up the monitor so I hope others will reach out with how they did it. It seems a monitor should display all signals input but I guess not

In my coach they kept the Javelin when they put in a new monitor by a previous owner so that is why

Same problem with those monitors here.
Great camera and monitor but doesn't play well with Javalina.
Hooked ours into the overhead TV, A/V input. Signal is reversed but the info is there.
It's a work around till we upgrade to the Seelevel system.

Several higher priority projects to take care of first.

For what it's worth, I wish I had ditched my javelina for a seelevel and stand alone camera system much sooner than I did.

Update on the install
Yes the cameras work very well, but EXTREMELY disappointed that the Javelina will NOT hook up to the
monitor as it does not accept the resolution of the old system.
Several folks on the forum here have had better luck with different monitors and systems.
I think the issue is that some monitors will accept a NTSC signal and Fookoos WILL NOT even though there is a switch for it.
Anyway disappointed, as I will have toinvestigate a new monitor and keep the bought cameras that I got with the system.
For those that say " just switch over to the sea level system", the thought had crossed my mind, BUT the system here in Canada is about a coach buck and my Javalina system works just fine...
