Annual Service

My annual service on my 1996 U295 is coming up next month and I am planning to replace the air filter, engine oil, and filters, generator oil and filter, and diesel filters. I had the transmission serviced last year. Anything I am missing? Thank you!

By all means, don't neglect the air dryer filter.

Grease zerks.  Careful they (or you) either don't do the zerks on the brakes, or follow procedures for them.

I have my generator serviced every other year....oil and filters changed.

I do brake pins every other year also. Clean ,inspect, reinstall. Verify adjuster have auto adjusted up then manually back off.

Coolant filter? and antifreeze change?

Filter possibly. If the coolant is less than ten years old and the extended coolant, I wouldnt worry about it. Way to expensive too change and cheap to just test.

In my case, the coolant filter was rusty and needed changing. I've had a rusty filter spring a leak before, so it was preventative maintenance. The coolant filter had a shutoff valve above it making the changeout much easier.

I do not know what is in it or when it was last replaced. Can I test and see or should I replace it?

You need to know what anti-freeze you have and determine if you need a blank filter or one with the additive,if you don't know when it was changed,change it,if you can't read a part number then for sure change it,most 295's have an 8.3,is that what you have?,if so I will check my part number in the morning,got mine from NAPA,if by any chance your shutoff valve does not work or
breaks,just leave it open and change it fast,original ones were plastic,metal new style availible.

Actually, if you are planning to keep the coach, I would properly drain, flush and go back with one of the OAT-based long life coolants and a "blank" coolant filter. 6 years, no testing-- maintenance free.
