"Help Wanted" - Foreforums is considering adding another moderator
Do you enjoy spending time on Foreforums? Do you like organizing things online? Do you like helping other members? You might be a good candidate for the moderating team!
Foreforums is considering adding a moderator. We are looking for people who are interested in keeping this community healthy and happy. Most of what a moderator does is unobtrusive: stuff like moving threads to the correct forum, fixing spelling errors in titles, and reviewing new member accounts for post approval. Mods also need to be familiar with the forum policies/user agreement FORUM TERMS & CONDITIONS and be willing to step in and apply them when necessary. This is not a cut and dry process, moderators have quite a bit of discretion and need to understand that the policies exist to support the community, they are not an end in themselves. Don't worry, you won't be on your own. If a moderator has a question/concern, the team helps sort out what action to take.
No specific forum operation background is required, although you should be comfortable navigating websites as there's a fair amount of editing and moving posts, merging/splitting topics and other detail work. We'll also need to know that you are someone we can trust with control over other members' posts, so a history of levelheaded posting here is preferred. We will certainly consider experience outside Foreforums. We prefer moderators have some technical understanding of coach systems, enough to recognize if a post suggests something that could cause harm to owners or a coach.
Moderating is purely voluntary and there is no set schedule for mods. We would like people who can respond to the queue of new/reported posts and spend time reviewing new content at least once a day.
