I thought I was going to need to do the upgrade as well and thankfully found those two filters. If it were in the budget, I would have done it. Sorry for taking the last of them. Sounds like they're not making them currently as every other shop I had contacted said they haven't seen them in months.
No worries, have you had any air leak issues since you installed the new one?

nope. Used to have to prime a few times before starting the engine. Even bought new fuel lines that I haven't installed yet thinking that may be the issue. I've gone 10 days without starting the coach and haven't had an air leak issue.

I have a year on new 300200 filter housing and its started sucking air again.  Just did a 1000 mile round trip without issue in early October, and getting ready for a trip next weekend, I am getting an intermittent stumble at idle and it is a warped filter housing.  The ends of the filter housing warp as shown in the first photo.  I will be upgrading to the FASS system that @dsd linked to above:

FASS fuel system install upgrade

I wonder why some have the problem with the 300200 filter warping.  I've never had a problem with mine.  I have several spares that I clean and reuse and I carry spare o-rings.  I've run my coach for over 20 hours continuously on more than one occasion.  It would seem that the ones that warp have been exposed to excessive heat and that there is a problem with the fuel being overheated.  I know that many negative comments have been posted about the Parker Racor pre filter unit.  I like mine though and will continue to run it until it lets me down.  I like that it combines a viewable pre-filter (which can easily confirm the presence of algae), self priming pump, and water purge.

Im still running300200, but I do like what Peter did by installing. I to still plan to go down this road myself eventually. Im still leak free and can park for several months and fires right up

I would love it if mine were trouble free.  I've had issues with it 4 times now in 6 years of coach ownership and about 15k miles of travel.  Have replaced the internal o-rings, filter housing o-rings, and as of this weekend, will be on my 4th filter housing due to heat warpage.

I spoke to FASS this AM, and they recommend the 165 gph unit, so this is what I'll be upgrading to.

FASS INDUSTRIAL SERIES, DIESEL FUEL SYSTEM, CLASS 8, SEMI, 165GPH, (16-18...

I noticed that @dsd  Winn unit is located at the far back of the engine compartment, whereas mine is located just above the batteries on the curb side of the coach, mounted to the frame rail.  I suspect his gets more airflow over it, but cannot imagine my location gets that much more heat than his.  No clue what is going on with fuel temps, can't imagine there is enough heat input into the fuel lines from tank to the pre-filter housing to cause the warpage that we see.

Be aware that many of us added a fuel cooler in the fuel return line from engine to tank.  And, some Foretravels were equipped with one from the factory.

Not difficult or expensive to add.  Basically, just an appropriate sized transmission cooler. Remove the return line from the engine and attach to the new cooler OUT port.  Have a new short fuel line made up from engine to new cooler IN port.

I made a cover for mine (fastened with velcro) for use in winter-- as you could over-cool the fuel in sub-freezing temperatures.

I think I read about a fuel cooler yesterday, first I had heard of one.  I don't think I have one on mine currently.  Even with upgraded lift pump setup, I think a fuel cooler is not a bad idea.

Is yours a radiant setup, or is it convection with a dedicated fan?

I put my fuel cooler in front of the aftercooler and it works great.

Mine has the fuel cooler from the factory also.  The fuel is used to cool the engine ECM and even with the cooler my fuel tank will get quite warm. Driving them long and hard with little fuel will cause quite a rise in temperature. I personally thing a fuel cooler in the summer time is help full. More fuel will slow down the heat gain also

You do have one. Just follow fuel line from ecm back.

I went with the Daveco 382 and have no regrets .  I moved it to the driver side had to extend one hose 12" and the other hose 24".  The filter is big and as the fuel gets close to the top it is time to change filters.  I've never had any problems with air leaks or engine not starting.

My WINN unit has the little Racor air purge system, which I assume is integrated into the filter housing somewhere.  I'm not familiar or aware of any way to manually purge the air out of the system without this.

How do you purge the air with your Davco unit?  The price I see for that unit is appealing, but I do like the idea of having the lift pump.  It's just money.....

I've never had to purge the air out of the system.  I raise the rear of coach then drain the filter remove dome and change filter, replace dome lower rear of coach and let filter refill.  When it gets about 1/2 full I replace the vent plug in the top.
