WINN 300200 pre-filter

I assuming this inlet shouldn't look like this. Looks like they are back ordered for a bit, most places say couple months or so. I got the 4 O-Rings and put it back together but haven't primed it up yet because I'm waiting for the 2 fuel filters to replace also.
The lower inner o-ring was tore up bad so I'm assuming that was the air leak issue and hopefully the deformed plastic will do until I track down a new one.
Just curious, can the diesel get that hot that it would deform the plastic like that...or was something else goong on?

I don't know if o-rings will help with the deformation of the filter. I haven't seen that happen on either my Monaco or the current coach I have a second old spare in the shop that is discolored but intact that I can loan you until you get a new one. PM me and we can figure out the cheapest postage. Another option would be I could send you my new one I keep in the coach and you could have the new one you find shipped to me. We won't be leaving until May 30th for the next trip.

Might be a good time to upgrade to the newer Racor system that eliminates the many O ring sealing issues.

Some people may be tired of reading my recommendation but my problems with the Winn system were solved by replacing it with a Parker Racor 790R30. It's a straightforward upgrade and actually a real blessing!

Actually all of those are out of stock, as well as a few more that i called...been calling around the last week or so to make sure they could put their hands on it and looks like it's back ordered for quite awhile now...one place ordered back in September and still hasn't received them yet.
Keep hoping i'll get lucky and someone will have it in stock. The price delta is crazy too, seen it as low as $49.99 all the way to $90 then shipping on top of that...and of course the shipping is all over the place too depending on where they are in the country.

No problem, the 790R30 is on my "to do" list...just don't have the time right now and have a few trips coming up.

I may take you up on that but I'm a little worried that I might not receive a new one before your trip in May. Let me get mine primed up and make sure all is good, then maybe consider using your loaner if I can't track a new one down soon. 👍

I just replaced mine and bought two so I can have one as a backup. Mine looked the same way and had continuous air leak issues that wouldn't allow it to keep idle until it ran for a while.

I purchased mine from dieselfiltersonline.com about a month ago. I used the chat box first to ensure they had them in stock.  They emailed back quickly and shipped it out within two hours.

Looks like they're out too...you probably got their last 2 because he said they've been back ordered for about a month.
Thanks for trying though  😁

Dylan,

They make an upgrade kit for that I think I have the number up in the shop. As soon as I get back I will post it as they may be available.

Mike

Well I looked but can't find the info on the upgrade kit with the metal bottom that stops the deformation from heat.

Are you talking about the 790R30 kit,.or an upgraded sight glass?

Please be aware that leaks on the suction side can damage some very expensive fuel injection components as well as put you on the side of the road.

Really not worth the chance.

That is why Racor discontinued that design and replaced it with a much better "suppression".

Did someone do a write up on the installation of the 790R30 kit?
Punched in that part number in the forum but couldn't find anyone talking through the installation process...maybe it's super easy and didn't warrant a write up...that's me wishful thinking...

I'm getting closer to pulling the trigger on the 790R30, the guilt trips are wearing me down

I installed mine a few years ago. Unfortunately it appears as if I didn't do a complete write-up. I know the mounting holes are spaced differently and so one additional hole needs to be drilled in the frame. I think the plumbing is the same but perhaps slightly different fitting angles are needed. Keep in mind that the fuel system uses JIC fittings, which are different from SAE fittings. If you have a Parker Store available then they are an excellent source for JIC fittings. I'm still very pleased with the upgrade.

FASS fuel system install upgrade

Really nice option, more money and work though

The FASS appears to be a nice system—but in reviewing the available data I can't seem to find any actual improvement in system longevity or performance on a Foretravel with an M11 or ISM engine. It seems (at least to me) to be an unnecessary "upgrade" on a Foretravel with an M11 or ISM engine.

One nice thing about the Fass System it I ever get bad fuel I can use it to polish the fuel. Also I
always have fuel pressure when starting the coach and as I have a preluber it works good with
that. Their filters clean better and if in a pinch I can use Cat filters.

I thought I was going to need to do the upgrade as well and thankfully found those two filters. If it were in the budget, I would have done it. Sorry for taking the last of them. Sounds like they're not making them currently as every other shop I had contacted said they haven't seen them in months.
