HWH auto level questions

Could not find a real answer.
I park the coach and set the auto level. Works fine. I have been turning the ignition switch to the run position several times over the last few weeks testing the camera installation.
Question is should the auto level continue to work when the ignition is switched back off? Does not appear to be the case as the coach seems to be out of level now. If so is there a way to turn on the auto level without starting the engine again or if that is advisable?

Jeff would be easy to see how yours works. Turn on auto level and then cycle the ignition switch several times over a couple of minutes and see what it does. Dont need to start engine just be in the run position.  I regularly use external compressed air and i know you can select. If the parking brake is released it is commanded into travel position with ign on.

Thanks, I guess I do not understand what to look for. I cycle the key but the light does not change. The red light is on the same as when the auto level was completed when the engine was running. I never hear the pump which I assume I should hear if it was adding air to level. Maybe it does not consider it out of level yet? Even though by eye I can see the driver rear is lower. Still learning.....

I may just be looking for a problem does not exist. This is from the manual and I do not see any yellow lights so it must think everything is OK.

"The ignition can be turned off. After 30
minutes, the computer wakes up. It will now stay awake and
monitor the yellow LEVEL lights. Flashing LEVEL lights will not
affect the computer. The computer must see a LEVEL light on
constant for one minute. If a LEVEL light comes on constant,
the computer will re-level the vehicle, starting with the original
lower high side leveling routine."

If you don't see any yellow lights, then it thinks it's level.

You do not need to restart the engine unless you need to build up compressed air in the tanks again.
With the engine still running press the level button once, and it will show you where you're out of level with the yellow lights. Press the button again and it will level the coach by letting air out of the high side. Turn engine off. Remove key.  Leave the leveling system on. If you have no leaks, unlike mine which has a slow leak on the front passenger side, when a yellow light comes on it will dump air on the opposite side again. It will continue to do that until it can't anymore and then you'll get the out of level light come on. If you have a leak the air compressor probably will never be able to level properly at least on mine that's the way it is until I get that leak fixed. About every 4 days I start the coach back up get the pressure back up re level, and repeat.
If you want to see how bad your leak is and where, you could start the engine build up pressure then raise the coach up. Then shut the leveling system off and then the engine off and let it sit. On mine after a few days I'd be nosing down on the front passenger side. Depending on how much of a leak will depend on how long it takes.

My system has recently stopped working properly. When I press button once l get no yellow lights and when press second time red light blinks twice and then goes solid. My coach thinks it's level but it is definitely not. What should I check. Am waiting on six pack rebuild kits

Your symptom would seem to point to a problem with the auto leveling sensor.

Your coach was built during a period of transition where the HWH system could possibly use any one of three different level sensors.  It could be a mercury switch, or a remote mounted "potted" switch, or it might be electronic and built into the HWH control box.

I can't tell you which switch you have on your coach.  Perhaps another member with a similar model will offer some clues on where to look.

Thanks for the links Chuck always interesting to read stuff from the past. The previous owner had put in the level mate pro. I was wondering why he did that but now I know. When I was doing extensive interior modifications I took it out and recently put it back in but it's almost impossible to get it to work if you don't install it when the coach is perfectly level which I didn't do. One of these days I'll take one of the screws out when I'm perfectly level and reposition it, and use it as a reference. Basically it's a Bluetooth bubble level. But as we all know garbage and garbage out.
My test of whether or not the coach is level enough is do I feel like I'm drunk when I'm walking from the front to the back or vice versa when I haven't had my nightly cocktail yet. It's always slightly out of level using my internal ears which don't seem to work as well anymore.

We keep a little 9" plastic torpedo level in a kitchen drawer.  I lay it on the countertop to check the "front to back" level.  For "side to side" we can rely on the sliding pocket door between the bathroom and the kitchen.  If it won't stay open, or shut as the case may be, then we know we're off kilter.
