1997 U270 Sony dash radio - no power

I have looked both under the dash in in the  removable panel in front of the rt side seat....does not seem to be fused (!).  Tried it with ignition on and ACC position.  Never has powered on in our 6 years of ownership.  Looks like the original Sony cassette car stereo. with the removable faceplate  The CB radio does have power.  Any clues appreciated.

On a '97 the radio power should come off a breaker that is on the breaker panel that is in front of the passengers seat kick panel. If you have the surround sound system there is another breaker that feeds it.  Look at the mid 40s breakers. as that should be where they are. After it cools off this PM I will run up to the shop and look at a print to double check and get back to you unless someone chimes in.

Thanks...I checked the radio fuse and harness and it is not getting any power (in any ignition key position).  I found the breakers in the 40s (radio is 46) and I don't see any one tripped.  Actually...I am not sure how to tell if they are tripped....is it obvious?  Also...we don't have surround sound.  Appreciate the help.

Ok...I checked for 12v power and continuity across all the 40s and they are good at 13.7v...nothing is tripped.  I guess I could run a new wire.....and perhaps a new ground but not sure it is worth the effort just to have radio.  Try as I might the radio wont come out of the dash so it is really hard to get the radio plug out for further testing.....I used 2 butter knives to try to get the radio to release (one on each side ...it is loose but wont slide out.

Those breakers are self resetting so you can test with a meter to see if you have power on the outgoing stud. I see you figured this out so it is down the line elsewhere.

Thanks!  I got the radio to work finally.  Turns out there is a release on the top of the radio and also the rt side (you can see that one).....I discovered this after taking the inner faceplate off...then the radio came out of the sleeve...after resetting the plug it worked....perhaps the plug was loose or corroded.  Glad to know snout the self resetting breakers....never really had a reason to look at them before.  Easy to test with a multimeter.  Love my Foretravel!
