Testing Fridge Defend

I installed a fridge defend yesterday in the GV and would like to confirm it's doing it's job. My current plan is to get the fridge up to operating temps and then put a heat gun on the flue/boiler tube housing and confirm that the fridge shuts down. Anyone have any slicker ways to test it out? I am generally adverse to just blasting stuff with a heat gun.

 Only need to heat up the temperature sensor. I really like the idea of the fridge defender and I'm proud of anyone that can buy one install it and actually have it work. The directions are very difficult for me to understand.

I tested mine the wrong way.  I could not get it to go a night without locking out.  Over MANY emails, the guy finally told me the electric heater was bad.  One section of it had failed, which made the remaining section overheat.

I replaced the heater and no issues for a few years now.

I had an ARP (earlier version before the name changed to Fridge Defend) device.  Simply put, park on a steep grade for 10 minutes or so.  The lights in your fridge will go out.  It should kill the fridge until you are level again for a sustained period of time.  I found this out while driving on a large grade in Utah on I70.  Now since then I had upgraded our cooling unit to 12V, so no longer a concern.  I am sold on this product as it did its job more than once.  Our fridge went out 2 years ago and I couldn't get it to turn on.  Went out and removed the cover and could see yellow residue and the ammonia smell.  Had we not had this device, there may have been a fire.

I am just glad to be rid of the absorption component.

Yes
Plan a trip to 3024 Wharton ~ Butte, MT 59701 and have him install for you. Zero stress and no need to learn another language that you will never use again and wont use enough to remember in five years. THAT said I absolutely recommend purchase and use.
