Remote monitoring for Vega system

Hi.

My coach is stored at a garage about 2 miles from
My home.  Is there an add/app/device on that will allow me to remotely see the panel in the coach?

Thanks

If you add your coach in your signature it is easier for others to know what coach you have.

Now to answer your question. Silverleaf has to options one is called Rosie. It ties your total control (I think that is what it's called) to the internet where you can then operate via phone or tablet. You would need internet at or in coach for this to work.  There is another option but takes way more work to get it to work. Do a Google search for silverleaf rosie

If all you need to do is "watch it" and there is internet access at your storage facility, maybe a Nest/Google/Wyze camera is all you need?

Not saying it is right but the brochure for the 2022 says it has Silverleaf Total Control.  If it does not have this you might call Firefly and see what they have where you can control the coach offsite.  Maybe call Foretravel First.  Since it is doable on my 2014 coach it should be doable on your 2022.

The Dash display in that is getting all it's information over the CAN connections. So anything that is displayed on the dash display should be able to be read by a CAN based Telematics solution. Something like the Parker IOT system, or one of the various other suppliers of On-highway Telematics should work. Anything that supports J1939 CAN messages will pick up anything the chassis system is sending out. Those systems are probably all powered down when it's parked, but the house systems are all probably using RV-C. Which is RV Can and the same message structure as J1939. The telematics modules would read them you would just need to work with someone that can configure their system to read the parameters you are looking for.

 Parker IOT telematics

Other option might be straight through the Dash display. Valid says it has a ethernet connection for remote monitoring and diagnostics. But I'm not sure how what that would support. It does say you need a router, but you might be able to put a mobile hotspot on board and connect in with the Dash display.

After reading this thread this awhile back and doing some additional research, I went ahead and had Sliverleaf Rozie installed this week on my 2014 IH.  So far it does everything remotely that I wanted and actually more than the engineer told me it would for my coach.

He didn't think several functions like doors, locks and enabling the Aqua-hot would necessarily work but they all actually do very well from the web page interface.

I have a Verizon Mifi /access point that is the interface to the Rozie.  Took a while for the two engineers at FOT to get it "programmed" after installing and calls to Silverleaf.  I think they may have had the interface connection off by one or something.

We are FT owners but do spend some time away from the coach for days at a time.  Its really good peace of mind for me to have the full monitor and control remotely

Thanks Turbo for point me that way here.

I take it you have the mobile app?  So you can remotely operate everything now?

I guess I need to go and get this also. With the micro air thermostat I can turn the AC's on and off, but I can not turn the Aqua Hot on or off when off site.  Going to be my Christmas present.  Going to put in a call to Silverleaf in the morning.

There were two options:  the Wifi module and the "ethernet" module.  The first was in stock at FOT the second was back ordered at the time.  Apparently part of my scheduling for installation involved time with engineering at FOT too that had to be coordinated.

The cost wasnt too bad: Module and 2-3 hours of installation/programming as I recall.

I think there are few kinks in the programming.  Still working with engineering at FOT.  What I can do/verified so far (BTW its from the myrozie.com web page.  Not really an app itself).  I will add some screen shots too here

Generator:  Stop / start / Autogen work
Water:  pump / autofill work
DC:  monitor voltages House/Chassis
AC: Inverter status (Enabled/disabled) / line voltage 1 and 2 / amperage 1 and 2.  (these are repeated 2 times for some reason ( guess if you have a 2nd inverter???)

Climate:  This is where it gets a bit confusing.  Engineer told me I would not be able to change/update individual zones 1-4 for things like heatpump/air/etc.  I explained i have the EasyTouch Wifi Thermostat for that. I only needed the climate part to be able to switch on the Aqua-hot burner / AC / Engine.  He tells me that wont be enabled for safety (?) because if in storage they dont want the burner to be able to turn on remote (but the generator is OK?)  Testing this it appears to work. I was able to start Aquahot burner remote but I need to check the others.  The interface menu does appear to give correct current status of AC and burner heat settings.

NOTE:  Whenever you change anything through the interface or what is monitored I think the default is an alert you can have sent to your email.  I manually turned on  Aqua hot the other day and got an alert that it was "detected"

Doors is the other option.  Roize is separated by Main door and Cargo doors.  When I selected LOCK main door it sends the command and after about 20-30 seconds the entry door locks and step comes in.

However the Cargo option does not work for me.  It sends the command but nothing happens.  This is where I am still working with engineering at FOT.  Before Rozie installation, I could lock all cargo with FOB or the panel inside the door button.  After Rozie my fob does nothing now, my button does nothing to lock.  Rozie has options for individual door or all for Cargo.  When I select ALL it appears to tries to lock the entry door but not complete the command.  Also my vertical outdoor keypad for the entry no longer works post Rozie.

Hopefully its a cross programming issues they can fix easily.  When the module was installed on the coach (I got the wifi module as opposed to the wired to the access point module) It too extra programming session with engineer (and apparent calls to Silverleaf) to get it set up on my coach correctly.  This is where I am wondering if they misconfigure around the doors

Not good that they screwed up your door locks. I am not sure how they screwed up your outside keypad. I thought that only talked via the tri-mark box and the tri-mark box talked to the rv-c buss, which is what Rozie talks and listens to.

When Art was at Silverleaf he said it was going to be plug and play for me.  I am guessing that was because they would program it at Silverleaf before they shipped it to me.

It would really be nice to see if coach still has power when I am away from it and to be able to turn the aqua-hot burner on remotely.  Can you also turn the electric on the aqua-hot on also?

I havent tried but appears the AC Options are there.  Here are the two option menus for Burner and AC (Note I am remote from the coach at the moment and it shows AC "Low".  I left one AC power on)

Have you gotten your app and coach dialed in.

I had called Silverleaf and they told me it was going to be in the thousands to be able to do mine since the touch screen was out of date.

I ended up going with the  eRVin coachproxy.  So far less then $200.  Invested  and a lot of time since there was no configuration file.  I now have locks, lights, shades, and water pump control. Working on getting Aqua hot  added.

Rozie has been working well.  I did have a bad module on the cargo locks/door keypad.  Once that was replaced all the features I expected to work with Rozie have been doing well.

Reporting:
Tank levels
DC voltages
AC voltages/Amps
inverter status
charger status

remote Functionality :
Pump/autofill on/off
Generator start/stop
AutoGen enable/disable

Climate:
Aquahot:  AC Heat Off/low/high
Aquahot burner on/off
floors: zone 1/2/3  setting from off to 9

Doors:  Front door lock/unlock  Cargo doors lock/unlock

Also now all status alerts work for the settings I configured (i.e. door lock/unlock, thresholds for tanks and for voltages ..etc)  sends me email alerts in case I wasnt checking.

We are currently in Florida and were away from the coach for most of a day.  Turned out the 50 amp breaker on the pedestal tripped (I think its weak/old...3 airs tripped it on a warm day.  Havent had issues at other parks).  Saw it on Rozie and monitored the voltages/drop until we returned later in the day.  No issues

I am able to control temp/zones through the EasyTouch app/Micro thermostat, so I have 90-95% of essential covered.

I would be interested how you added shades to remote control  The Sliverleaf/Rozie on new coaches will control that and much more but they told me my vintage doesnt work

Net-net pretty happy with this add on.  The hotspot on Verizon has been good for the access point (except for the 1 day it over charged and decided to reset itself.  Rozie connected right back up as soon as Mifi was back up)

Thanks

The shades work through RV-C buss just like every thing else. I went through the schematics of the switches  and next to each switch it tells you the address of the shade. Then went and added them in. A program called Node-red is used to program all of the devices.

There should be no reason why shades should not work, except for them not wanting to.

My coach did not come with Rosie.  Back when I was looking at going that way, I called Silverleaf and they had two ways I could get Rosie. I had to get some information to Art, after I got him that information he said that I was going to have to send my monitor in for firmware update and was going to cost around $600-700.00 for the parts. I can not remember why I did not pull the trigger.  When I was ready to do, Silverleaf said that the parts that I needed were not made any more and I was out of luck.

I then looked into eRVin which was based off of coachproxy that was made for Tiffin motorhomes.  I went the eRVin route,  I had to do a lot of the programing myself but once I got into it, was not that hard for me to do.  As of right now I have almost everything working. The only things I do not have working on the app is operation of the bedroom & bathroom doors. I have spent very little time looking into the programing for those. What I really like about the app, beside being able to do everything off site, is I have where I can push 1 button to turn on all floor heat zones to level 6, and one button to turn all floor heat zones off. I also have where I can push one button to fill the water tank for 3 or 6 minutes and then it shut off the filling.  In the past I would only want to put some water in the tank but would walk away and then the tank would be at 90%, where it would shut off.

Turbojack,  Thanks for the update.  Sounds like I may have the same monitor screen issues as you being as we are close vintage. I do have a couple of modules with antennas that I do not know what they do, so not sure if they are for remote monitoring which is what I want to do.  As others mentioned I can operate climate with the  Easy Touch RV Thermostat remotely with my phone, but the Silverleaf Coach monitor screen is difficult for me to see some of the small differences that a change makes.  I have a stool to get up high enough to see the ends of the ovals on the screen.  A phone app would make all the difference for me.
