50 amp male end connector burned at pedestal
Left our SKP co-op park in Benson AZ today on Sunday. As always, I turned off the breaker then pulled the plug end from the pedestal.
I was very surprised to see the end connector melted. We have a hardwired progressive EMS and it did not shut down power nor flag any issue. And if we lost one leg of power to the coach we didn't notice it. Both ACs wer running the night before I unpluuged this morning.
I'm posting this so folks with the same type of replaceable 50 amp male end connector will unplug, unscrew the cover, and check tightness of all screws and wiring inside the connector. Check your connections before an issue pops up.
As a side note, I will be buying 2 new ends, so I always have one on hand in the coach. And I will be checking the connections every 6 months or so.
Did a temp repair today, permanent fix as soon as I can find a new 50 amp male end (ordered one on Amazon sent to daughters house where we are headed, and looking for one tomorrow along our route (in Deming NM tonight)).
Besides the melted end connector, the black wire was heavly damaged in the final 6" or so, so I trimmed all wires back to remove the damaged insulation and wire portion.
