Been dealing with an intermittent leaky black tank valve for a while now and finally decided to tackle it. I've disassembled the panels and have removed the valves so far. Unless I'm doing something wrong, the engineers did not think about accessibility much...being able to remove the cable from the valves with that back panel in the way was not fun... (can't pull the back panel out very far while still connected to the cables) I'm not able to contort my body that way very long and not looking forward to the reinstall 😡

Ok, done moaning...does anyone see an issue with spraying the panels and lower section with something like flex seal? I would love to do the stainless steel route but just don't have the time. The rubber material on the bottom section was in bad shape so I tore it out. Was thinking about spraying the bottom section with black, and then the back and top panels with white flex seal.

I'm not going to add a permanent 3rd valve but one of the slip on valves like this.  Amazon.com: Camco 39051 Ready-to-Use Gate Valve with Built-in Clear Adapter,...
I know using this adapter may leak but I'm not ready to put something permanent there, and with the new cable valves it will be just an extra option if things go bad again.

Thanks for any suggestions about the flex seal...

I also just noticed that the new valves have a small sliver of daylight on the edges...isn't some liquid going to work past that? Though I did notice that the original valves have the same design as shown in the the pics...they are Valterra valves and not a knock off....I hope.

Once I fixed my dump valves, I got rid of the adapter so I could use a regular Camco Rhino Flex sewer hose for dumping the tanks.
I cut off the old connector and had just enough to put a secondary dump valve that is made with the sewer hose connector in place. It has to lie sideways so the lever can be pulled.
You can still get an elbow down through the access and close the compartment door. (Not that I ever leave the hose on)
Now if the black valve leaks again I will not be bothered!
