Entry Door Holder-Opener

Does anyone have a good alternative to this for holding the door open? The rubber is worn and won't "latch" anymore. I think a posilock is more money/effort than I want. I would be open to just replacing the rubber if anyone knows where to find one.

We've got that same door keeper rubber thingy.  Ours works OK in calm conditions, but won't stand up to a stiff breeze.  As a backup, I use a short bungee cord stretched from the door handle over to the awning hook under the adjacent window.  Simple and effective.

For what it is worth: I found a description and part numbers in my OLD 2016 RV Parts & accessories catalog.
The part is called a: Plunger Door-Stop Angled/Straight.
Angled plunger 3" #342-10304 (Bell #1762-0556) $9.14 ea.
Angled plunger 4-3/4" #342-10314 (Bell #1762-0557) $9.41 ea.
Straight plunger 3" #342-10284 (Bell #1762-0558) $9.14 ea.
I think Bell might be the name for the original manufacturer.

The replacement rubber socket repl part #342-10404 or Bell #1762-0555. Price was $3.82 back in 2016. I bought one to replace the robber on my 1989 GV from my local RV dealer.

Hope this helps

I believe that is part of the design of these.  Tightening collapses the bore just a little, but they can still wear out as mine did.
I switched to a different design (McMaster-Carr) but it's not really meant for outdoor use.  This original design unit is actually pretty good and I would keep with it if I were to do it again.

I think the JR Products 10635 Pivoting Door Holder Receiver is the replacement for it... Amazon.com: JR Products 10635 Pivoting Door Holder Receiver : Automotive
It is also available from Walmart.
This was exactly it, thanks. It fits so tightly that I actually ended up hitting it with a bit of dry lube because I didn't like how much it was pulling on the metal arm when I tried to close the door. It's perfect now.
