Slide issues

I'm sure this has been gone over many times but searching slide issues/problems doesn't describe ours. We have only owned it for a few weeks but it did this when we were buying it also. The rear slide works perfectly. Always try to do the slides with engine running and good air pressure. The front either does not quit flashing yellow until resetting/turning key off/master switch off for 30 seconds in no certain or repeatable order till it suddenly glows solid. But then the retract/extend switch might work or not. Seems toggling opposite way works occasionally. We have not been hung yet but aggravating and time consuming to say the least. 2008 Nimbus 338

What year coach?  Slide systems differ depending on the year.  (You might want to add your coach to your signature via your profile - that way it shows up in every post)

If 2003 and later, there's some recent and ongoing discussion that might be of use  03 U320 slides

Quick question, when you say the extend/retract switch doesn't work...how long are you holding it down?  It could take up to 20 seconds or so for the hydraulics to move, waiting on a timer or vacuum switch to ensure the bladder is fully retracted under vacuum.  Press and hold in one direction or the other.

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your "new coach". You will probably get more answers from someone with a similar coach if you  finish setting up your profile. Where it says signature fill in your coach details.

I'm learning about forums. I have learned there is a LOT of great information on this one. Thanks to all contributors. After reading several other posts about slide issues I was able to figure ours out. I had my wife on the phone operating the slide control for the rear slide first (which works correctly) as I crawled in and observed the manifold. Then we tried the front slide, after giving it plenty of time to deflate I took my pocket knife (only thing within reach) and whacked the vacuum sensor a few times. The vacuum quit and the light came on solid. She pushed the extend button and it started deflating again as it should but wouldn't start the pump. I whacked it again and presto pump came on and extended. Had to whack it again to retract. Vacuum switch is sticking, I plan to remove it tomorrow and spray contact cleaner into it. I hope this might help someone.
