4075 coolant filter

Hi,
u320 M11
I am doing oil changes and fuel filters.
I noticed my coolant filter by the oil filter is a WIX 4075?
I ordered one to replace with same.
it is 50.00?

I do not see any posts or lists that specify a 4075 coolant filter.
Everything works fine and coolant is good.
Should I replace it with same, a different one, our leave it alone?
thx
Larry

I think that filter contains like 15 units of goodie.  How much SCA you need will depend on the reading you get on a test strip of antifreeze. without testing you don't know whether you need 10 SCA or 50 SCA. That seems kind of high for a $25 filter

When I went to Cummins for the water filter the salesman asked me what coolant I was using
and he gave meet the right filter for the coolant.

Yup, with any of the newer OAT-based coolants, you use a FILTER BLANK.  Same filtration, no SCA.

And, if you do have the "older" coolant that does use SCA, as already posted you have to test the SCA concentration to determine what you need.  Over-dosing is as bad as under-dosing.  Be sure the test strips are not expired.

Here is the coolant that was used by the shop I took it to.
Should I remove the 4075 and use a blank?

My personal opinion would be to get that coolant out of your system. It is not for diesels and does not have the protection you need. Look at many previous posts on the forum on several different brands of correct coolant. Final Charge comes up most commonly. Didn't you have any stickers showing Texaco extended life on the engine reservoir or your AH bottle?

A diesel shop in Spokane WA called Calligans was the one that did the service and used the coolant.
I will see if i can get it changed out and install the blank filter

Best thing you can do is,research your coolant yourself and make sure it is compatible for the engine,I looked at a Shell site
and it looks like it will work(they have a few different versions and the containers all look the same). If the coolant is SCA then you
need a SCA type filter. If you know or can find out what coolant was in the engine when the shop changed it that would help
because they may or may not have flushed it out correctly, hope that helps.

I posted the coolant in previous post.
I believe it is tne wrong coolant. It does not have the 14603 cummins cert.
So having buckners is yakima change it. I store motorhome in heated garage, cant work on it there other than small things. Live on a ridge so not there either.
Gonna use peak global final charge. Will b3 good for 8 years.

Plan on flush with chemical and water, then flush with distilled , drain and then add 8 gallons antifreeze and top off with distilled water
