Allison Transmission Tech

I'm posting this because it could help anyone with Allison Transmission issues within reach of Little Rock Ark. Without all the details, some know that I installed an air throttle back in the summer to get around the King Cruise throttle issue I was having. We made a mistake with one wire in the harness for the new Allison TPS and it had my shift points bad out of sync. I went to Stewart Stevenson and spent $1100.00 at $220.00 per hour and no improvement. The mechanic at Stewart Stevenson said he could probably find the  issue but labor could easily and likely be very expensive, it already was at that point... I stopped him where he was at because i've been down the electrical issues road many times before with HD trucks.. Chris Lang told me about a 1 man show in North Little Rock called North Little Rock Diesel. I called and got right in. Dwight is the name of the owner and @ 72 years old has stopped doing any diesel repair beyond Allison Transmission work. I have never seen anyone with the skills , patience and  determination to finish a job that I experienced with Dwight. My Cummins  liked the air throttle from the start and now the Allison does as well and I couldn't be more pleased. I was there for 6 hrs and was charged for 3 hrs work.  Dwight @North Little Rock Diesel, North Little Rock Ark. 501 955 3880.

Good find!  There is always someone out there who knows their stuff.  The hard part is finding them.  I would drive well out of my way to get someone who knows what they are doing.

Sometime when you start trouble shooting you need to go back to the very start and verify everything is correct.

When I was a very young electrician I did a service call on a Home where the lady told me her bathroom light stopped working.  When I got there the bathroom was dark and the first thing I thought was the switch must be bad since I had replaced a few of them that year.  I opened it up and switch was good. I then removed the light fixture and checked wiring in the box, that was good. I then removed the bulbs and check power at the sockets, that was good. I then went into another room and pulled a good bulb from a fixture and installed in bathroom fixture, it lit up. I then moved the bulb to all of the other sockets and they all were good.  Problem was 4 burned out bulbs.  After that when someone complained of a light not working I would go and check the bulb first.

Thanks Dub, it's great to get this type of information. I store all of these tidbits.  You just never know where you might be when an issue pops up!
