Re, hydraulic parking brake chamber 1990 gran villa

I was wondering if anyone has ever changed their hydraulic brake chamber which controls the transmission parking brake I replaced mine with an aftermarket product made by haldex, now the only difference between this one and the original, when I used to flick the switch and dump all the fluid and the parking brake engages, I could always here the brake engage, like a loud click  it was almost instant and the brakes applied very quickly indeed, now the only difference is that this new one, dosent do it so fast, it's like it releases the pressure slower and it probably takes about 5 maybe 6 secs for it to totaly engage, i mean once it is engaged then the parking brake is holding perfectly, so I'm not really that bothered about it, I was just thinking maybe they have upgraded the part purposely, maybe they found that it was better to release the spring slowly instead of slamming it, just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this thanks kev

Sounds like the parts may last longer with a slower pressure dump.

I have a 1988 gas pusher (460 Ford) with c6 transmission on Oshkosh chassis and the black cap on the hydraulic park brake switch mechanism has split so I need to replace it.
Would you know what the 2 wires coming off if are for. I assume sensors, but what do they do. Could I just replace the cap and ignore the wires? Can I bridge the wires if they are only for dash board light?
I am in Australia and do not have access to parts. Any assistance in where to source one of these would be of great help also

Take a test light to jump the connector.
See if the dash light comes on with them jumped together. Keep in mind that the test light may not allow a dash light to glow bright.
Or simply so if it has power engaged or not.
Should be simple to se what it does.  Maybe an oil pressure switch with a normal open and switch closed value of 12# or so could be fitted and turn the dash light on when pressured.

Basically , see what it does , see what thread it is if it screws into a pressure situation.
Determine if you need normal closed or open.

Sorry mate, haven't got back to you earlier, been so busy, I literally ain't had time to pick up phone, anyway just seen your message now, that part no. For the parking brake chamber is a Haldex part no. KSMR1PT40H(50034), i remember it took hrs and hrs over a few weeks of searching for this, going on to different cross reference sites, and all I had was the original gm part no. From the manuals, and eventually  came up with this, they even got a depot in UK, but they don't sell direct, you have to buy from one of there registered sellers, and I got a lad called Todd, from anything truck. Com,  they are just one of many all over the world,
