Racor filter air bubbles

Just curious if the small air bubbles at idle is normal.  I just received my new filter, they were backordered again for months and the first one they sent me was defective 😡

The current filter is my original but has has brand new o-rings and had been working fine.

I never looked this closely at this thing while idling so maybe it has always done it.

I think it is a normal occurrence on that type of filter. The same thing happens on ours...... The only thing I have to compare it to, is we have some secondary pre filters on some tractors and it does it on them.

It looks to me like for better words, fuel falling on fuel, mixing and that's making the bubbles. I've had several  bowl filters but can't say I ever watched one at idle. It's still my opinion.

Looks just like mine. Never gave it a thought if it was right or wrong.

I believe this is normal. I bought a new Davco fuel/ water separator because I was unable to get replacement parts. The stays 1/4- 1/2 full and when Davco glass bowl is full, that means it needs a new element. Even though the Davco bowl is facing up, I believe Racor is similar. As long as you get full power on max throttle ( pulling up a hill), I wouldn't worry about it. Racor owners manual might confirm that.
