2001 microwave vent issues

So during my inverter installation I had to remove both the refrigerator vent and the microwave vent to route Data wires. I noticed that the factory duct installation was misaligned and would have never allowed the vent damper to fully open. I first noticed there was something wrong when I was removing interior paneled and felt air movement. The roof needed to be clearances to allow the offset duct to align correctly and the inboard side of the duct needed to be trimmed to allow it to rotate more and fully engage the vent housing. Once positioned to fit it dropped the duct down about 3/4". Still had about a 1/4" above the roof fiberglass to make it waterproof once sealed. No more air movement inside the coach. Closed up today and installed interior panels. In thinking about this tonight I realized if I operated in a cold environment it would be beneficial to insulate that duct before the interior panels were installed. The cold would still lay on top of the closed damper, but I think it would really cut down on heat loss. IMO. Not going to worry about it for a while. May cover when I'm sound proofing the generator. Wouldn't hurt.
