Tires size question

I have a 1986 GV and looking at replacing the front tires. My question is can use the same size tire that are currently on the rear on the on the front?

Fronts 9R22.5
Rear 275/70R22.5

Tire shop says the difference between the front and rear is that the rear are wider than the fronts are narrow.

IF 9R22.5 is your OE size (from the plaque on the left side of the driver's seat), replace with them OR the two common replacements other than the 9R are:

Michelin 255/80R22.5 and other brand's 265/75R22.5.

These will go on the 6.75" rims.

9R are readily available.  Go to Simple tire.
After running the small Od tires and the 9R. The 9 is a better choice for overall gear / tire OD and the bus will drive better with a little more pressure in the narrower tire.
The OD should be kept close to 38.5 or more.
The tires Brett put up may fit fine also if the OD is close  .
The little busses don't need a huge tire
