HWH leveling issue

96 270 HWH failing to auto level.. Ride height good but wont auto level or manually raise or lower, instead get a clicking from the six pack area. Mike believes the series is probably 600 for this coach. Fuses are all good and this era coach has no reset button. Ive done the turn off salesman switch and the release and reset air brakes so the easy things wont do. Ive been to the library but I can't get the print zoomed up big enough for me to see. I'm guessing now I need to jack the bus up and start checking solenoids. If solenoid is the culprit is there another vendor besides HWH. I would dread that wait on a return phone call. One last thing? How to test each solenoid. When I press auto level every light on the board flashes fast as long as I hold in level button. Thanks for any advise I may get.

There was a post here on the forum a couple of years ago about someone found coils on Amazon that will work and they were very reasonable. Also there are check valves on the 6 packs that can keep the air from entering the 6 pack, but I don't think all 4 of them would go bad at the same time.

Sounds like the same thing that happened to mine. I had to send it to HWH. They replaced a relay, capacitor and a diode I believe. I have a video of what it was doing but I cant figure out a good format to upload. Attached is a photo of the board. The relay in the middle that was showing heat damage was the one they replaced. The capacitor with coil around it was also replaced. Works great now.

It would be very odd for a single solenoid to cause issues both raising and lowering, as well as no side to side differences.  There are 2 raise (L and R) and 2 dump (L&R) solenoids for each axle.  That would have to be a lot of solenoids not functioning at all.  There has to be something more comprehensive that's not functioning properly.

You might check the telephone cable connection at y th he touch pad and control box. I've had mine come loose.

Mine came loose as well Bruce but not this time. Thinking about what Michelle said and it makes sense that a solenoid is causing all these malfunctions. Thanks for the vendor tips. The clicking makes me suspect electrical but I've never had HWH issues so starting out uneducated. Could be worse as in travel height. Next move will be to jack the front up and clean and inspect wiring and connectors. Thanks for the tips.

Here's the 600 series manual with troubleshooting instructions from the forum library.  The troubleshooting looks pretty useful.  Don't forget your safety stands/blocks when working under the coach.

This will get me started. I'm going to make a couple short trips that are already planned as it is but when I get back to this project we will see what unfolds. Thank You.

The likelihood of multiple solenoids going out at the same time is pretty low. I would suspect something in the control box or panel. Before you do anything I would check the grounds on the control box. 2-3 white wires secured to a stud by a nut on the outside of the control box.

Thanks Elliot... They are tight. I plan to disconnect the wire connections going to that 6 pack and check for tightness and clean. I'm going to do that after the next 2 trips because I don't want to risk gimping up the ride height being i'm leaving tomorrow. I do hope to gather what info I can before hand.
