1995 U320 Brass Airbag 90 elbow broke while replacing the rears

Hello All, I finally mustered up the courage to cut the trim strip , remove the rear fenders and replace the rear airbags and shocks .
The right side is done but I broke the 90 degree elbow from the airbag to the airline and it is not available . Did anyone upgrade but save the elbow. I bought fancy new fittings but the hose is too short to use . I am stopped in my tracks with a disassembled left rear but the new gold Koni shocks are on and looking good .

You want to get the compression type dot air fittings. They are 1/4 inch male pipe thread 90 degree 3/8 dot airline compression fittings. You can get them online and your napa should be able to order them in for you.

I have also found that they used some type of pipe dope that really makes removal difficult. Gentle will work but if you get to forceful they will break. This is from experience of removing many brass fittings.

Yeah I think I used heat on the pass side , but smashed my thumb loosening the shock bolts and forgot . 1/2 inch impact is the only way to go on the shock bolts even after 3 applications of PB Blaster .
When done I will have , new tires x6 , gold shocks x8 replacing reds , new airbags x8 no more bucking bronco and new air dryer .

Nice to see you removed fender panel as makes it so easier to work on. I did it a few times on our 2000 295 and once replaced no one never new.

Another option is a DOT fitting kit.  I keep a kit in the Coach.  These kits have many sizes and shapes of fittings that may save the day when on the road.

New air bags on the left rear are leaking down but the right are holding . I have the new Dryer assembly yet to install but I think the next check is the numatic servo bank or is their a better place to start looking .

Start with the connections to the airbags themselves.  Last thing changed/messed with.  Be aware, if it's a significant leak you might not see the bubbles form with soap solution - you might need to block the coach and feel around the fittings with your finger.  Happened to us on a front airbag when it was replaced.

Ahh...I understand...aerospace industry terminology.  In layman's terms: the HWH 6-pack manifold.

I merged the update (leaking air bag issue) with the original air bag replacement topic to keep the discussion together (above in red).  It might help with the diagnosis.

You used to be able to snag a bag for $99/. Now I think they're going for closer to $150/ea. 8 airbags on the U270 you're looking at and you might as well do shocks while you're in there too, to the tune of about an additional $200/ea. You need 8 shocks. It's a big job both in terms of dollars and time.
