Maxxair or Fantastic vent fan?

Which would you buy and why?

Both the original fans on the coach have started to slip at the spline. I first ordered a new set of lift arms, but that didn't get enough bite on the motor.
Then I ordered two new motors, which, when I plugged in the first one, started to run right away without turning on the power. I had read that with these new motors I might have to switch the wires black to red red to black so I also did that but nothing changed. It still was running without being turned on. Another issue is that the New motor Mounting holes did not line up with the old.

So I returned the motors.

So now I am looking to replace the entire unit. I don't believe I will be able to use the switches from the fantastic vent on the new fan whether it be from Maxxair  or Fantastic vent from what I've read on other posts.

They both have a 2 year warranty and run at 900-920 CFM's.

If your fans are 2003 original with the remote panel having continuous variable speed knob, that's correct.  It's been many years since Fantastic has used the circuit board design in those original fans, and similar to the roof ACs, you need both a controller board and one in the fan that work together.

When we tried to get one through Fantastic around the time the company was sold, they sent us what they had that they thought would work.  It didn't, so we had to buy both a fan and a new control panel.

I used the Fantastic vent with remote and used 2 of the the original wires to the fan unit. Mounted the remote holder over the hole left from removing the old controller.

I've got 2 of the maxxair deluxe fans and I love them. The temperature control is great.  They can work in the rain or while driving. They can also run while closed as a ceiling fan.

I have had both. I like that Maxair has it's own built in rain cover.

The Fantastic fan just closes in the rain.

I've had both and have found the MaxxAir is much quieter.

Thanks for the replies everyone,
I've been watching YouTube videos and a few people that have the maxxair fan have sprayed the mother board with Conformal coating to prevent moisture issues.

KGrover, AC7880 & Joe have you used this product on your fan?

Nope, but it's probably not a bad idea.
