Aux Compressor Blows

Jimmy is FINALLY getting around to trying to figure out what's going on with our auxiliary compressor. It is working, but it just blows air and automatic drain valve never closes.

Jimmy thinks the valve could be bad, but hasn't discounted the filter, solenoid or check valve.
I've spent some time trying to find parts without much luck. Any suggestions, part numbers or other advice?

When the solenoid had power it closes off. Opens up on power loss.  Need to verify it has power.

FOT has them.  They had them on sale earlier this year on their web site but I just looked and don't see it on there anymore.

Auto drain valve outlet is threaded 1/8" npt.  Put a pipe plug in it and see if your compressor will build pressure as expected.  If it does, remove once compressor stops running for that cycle, then look for power at solenoid.  Could be power or solenoid issue.

Very common for the seat on the plunger in that one to get fouled.

HWH Solenoid Valve Rebuild

Also look for cracks around the fittings at the bottom of the bowl - lots of thermal stresses.  We helped another Foretravel owner diagnose his in the FOT parking lot when they couldn't fit him in for service - massive crack in the condensate bowl.

HWH Filters and Bowls

If you're replacing the NO solenoid valve AND that condensate bowl is older/original, consider replacing both.

I've had pretty good luck ordering parts from HWH online.  Ordered both the bowl and water trap solenoid and received them in a couple of weeks.  RAP90161 (AP6748) – HWH® Corporation

Northwest RV supply also carries a good supply of HWH parts:  RV Parts Categories - Northwest RV Supply

The water trap solenoid failed on our coach while traveling  and we just plugged it up and went months without it.  Never enough water in the bowl to worry about, but it easily unscrews should you need to empty it.

I carry a spare bowl now (and plug) as it seems they can get hairline cracks/leaks
