Powertech Isuzu water temp sending unit location

Anybody know where the sending unit is located for the water temp overheat function on a power tech generator with Isuzu 3 cylinder diesel?

If it's on the back of the engine, how do you access it?

Thanks

I am not sure, but you should be able to see it if it is on the front. If you don't see it there slide the generator out on its track and then remove the 4 bolts that hold the rubber mat under the generator and then you can access the back side of the generator.

Raise front of coach, insert safety bars Remove 4 fasteners holding bottom panel, remove panel Remove 2 bolts holding side slides, slide gen forward Place body under front of coach, sit forward facing under generator with back resting on generator's back wall Eyes and hands have access to rear of generator Locate oil pressure switch and other parts. Also, may be able to install water temp sensor top front of gen near thermostat housing if there is a blank plug. This is a handy place to install a dash gen coolant temp gauge. Some have purchased the same OEM temp sensor used on Cummins engine, install sensor in blank plug at gen thermostat housing, run wire from new gen sensor to dash, use new dash switch to disconnect engine temp sensor and disconnect ignition power, and then power OEM dash coolant gauge with power, and wire from new gen sensor. Switch down: Normal, power meter when ignition is on, read Cummins engine coolant temp. Switch up: Gen Temp, power meter from house or chassis battery, read generator coolant temp. This switch wiring just saves adding a separate gen coolant temp dash gauge with matching sensor.

It is on the back side of the engine in the head just above the no. 1 cylinder if it is like mine. Slide the generator out and take a mirror you can see it. It will have a single wire attached to the end of it. You can take it out from the front. It takes a 13/16 deep socket if I remember correctly. Be quick and you won't lose much antifreeze..... good luck

Thanks everyone for all the info!  I'll give it a try using the reach around first.  If unsuccessful, I'll pull the floor and slither up the backside!

I just fitted a Honda radiator to the unit.  I'll post more info soon when its completely finished.  I now know that the overheat shutdown isn't working!
