Broken shower panel

So after a precarious ride up truck route i81 and i84 to maine on some of the roads equivalent to i20 out of Shreveport we parked today around 1pm. Came out at 6pm and one of our shower panels exploded.

Now I removed and repainted the shower frames over the winter and am thinking that the vinyl trim had shrunk and was not as supportive as it once was. See pic. Anyone else seen this ?

Tempered glass. Most likely some tiny thing pressed against and chipped an edge of the panel inside the extrusion.  That's all it takes.

Ooof! I've not seen this, and I'd  like to keep it that way  :)

A chip like @Chuck Pearson said or perhaps you had something loose in the shower that hit it during travel, like a squeegee?

At least its an "easy" fix, biggest problem will be matching the rain glass look of the remaining panels.
