Porch light not shutting off….

Hey all, this just started today...porch light not shutting off. 1999 U295. Before I start tearing into stuff just thought I'd see if anyone has any insight. I only know of one switch inside on stairs and the handle on outside that activates....Where to start?

Is it raining where you are?  I have seen high humidity cause it to come on. Check to see if the drain hole in the lower handle bracket isn't stopped up.  You may need to pull the lower handle and clean out some gunk. It could be a bad controller but check for a water related grounding problem before we tear into you magazine rack to get to the controller.

I had the same problem and it was the handle screws shorting out. I pulled them out and epoxied the screw holes
and that worked. It took a few tries to get it.

So yes, I unscrewed the handle and some water came out of the bottom section. Not much, but it was definitely moist in there. We were in Branson a couple days ago and got about 5" of rain on that side of coach. Anyway, after drying out everything, now I'm having trouble getting the screws in without them making contact. Got top ones in and two on bottom, but the last one is driving me crazy . I think I need to get some clear silicone or something so I can screw without making contact. Have tried every conceivable rubber, electrical tape configuration. For now plugged hole with electrical tape and will play with it again tomorrow....thanks again guys.

Follow up: Went and bought a small tube of clear silicone today. Pulled the handle back off coach, made sure all was dry inside and applied silicone to the screws,  and also while at it sealed handle and top and bottom mounts. Made sure the drain hole was clear on the bottom handle. Porch light works again as it should. Need bulb for the handle itself. Looks like the bulb filament is broken. Thanks again for your guys insight and experience.....
