Best places to list my GV FOR SALE

Hello folks. It's time to sell the GV. I thought the kids would want to put her on the road, but she just sits.
Was wondering where, besides FF, are the best places for advertising.  BTW, I'm in central NC if that matters.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Coaches are listed on Facebook in the Foretravel group, along with Facebook Marketplace. A surprising number of people don't list many details or provide good pictures inside and out. Price, year, model, engine, transmission, miles, service upgrades, generator details, age of tires, how long you've owned it, maintenance records, how it's stored and status of batteries and any electronic upgrades such as solar, etc. are beneficial. It also helps to list any obvious defects such as cracked windshield, body damage, and non working components in my opinion. RV Trader would give you a national audience for your ad. Be aware that Facebook Marketplace defaults to 25 miles from the searcher's location, this can be expanded to 500 miles max by those searching. The Facebook group would cover a much wider geographic range, but a smaller potential audience. I haven't used Craigslist in four years. I also post that financial transactions would be conducted at my bank or credit union and specify what forms of payment would be accepted. Lastly, some folks have their coach inspected at Keith Risch's in Nacogdoches and consign it with him.

If you opt for RV Trader, set up a separate e-mail account to use only for that site.  You WILL have scam attempts (VIN check scams, etc.); be wary; be vigilant.

Facebook is also rife with scammers.  Try not to list in the overall Marketplace but only in private groups (and do make sure they're private - don't assume.)  Public groups are basically the same as the overall marketplace - anyone can see and scam.  Private groups at least have some vetting of members.

Hard to let others drive these big boxes, as they may cause accidents, or drive away.  Also have alerts to inviting strangers to your home.  Selling is not without major scams in place that we are not prepared for.

Even hard to be sure money transfers and hard to avoid ownership risks until the coach is titled to new buyer, which may not happen, or happen late.  Keep insurance in place until.

Consider that coach is not an investment and that it does not owe you anything, so a low price to sell to a local buyer with title transferring at a local DMV with both of you present may be best way out.

I would say list it here and DO NOT take it to MOT at the same time, give the folks here a chance to buy the coach at less money
then MOT would charge plus you won't have their fee,if no bites then consider MOT.

I would think there is a good market in NC with all the people who lost their homes and are looking for shelter. Your local craigslist might get it sold fast.

I sold two motor homes through PPL and was pleased with the results.  I dropped them off, and received a check later - great if you don't have the time or patience to show the RV, or if you lack a storage place.

I have bought and sold vehicles through Craigslist.  For buying, we bought a motor home.  I had been watching the well-written ad with good photographs, and when the price dropped 1/3 (yes!) I called and was looking at it in person in 30 minutes.  For selling, I sold a Honda CRV to a guy 1000 miles away.  He knew EXACTLY what he was looking for, and offered to wire payment in full.  I told him to send a few hundred, and we settled when he came by a week later.

More recently, I sold a travel trailer on RV Trader, with ads on Marketplace and Craigslist.  Again, the buyer offered to send payment in full.  I told them just to pay me when they got here from Oklahoma.  We were flooded with scam inquiries, but I expected that.  It seemed annoying, but it really takes maybe 30 seconds to respond to one.  Usually a real specific question about their interest, or saying "cash and in-person sales only" shuts one down.

I sold a vintage truck to a guy in Australia through Craigslist.  Funny that he was to "send his courier to pick it up," and etc.  He did, and the courier did a final inspection and handed me $14,000 in cash.  My wife counted and "pen checked" the bills in her locked car while the courier and I chatted.

My experiences have told me that it does not hurt to post in multiple places, and that a long, well-written and brutally honest ad works best.  It seems that good buyers can "smell" sincerity, and respond well to experiencing no disappointments when they arrive.  I think several of the sales were helped by sending narrated videos to potential buyers, carefully explaining the good and the bad.

Were we to sell our FT, I would absolutely post it here first.

Isn't that a public group (not a private one) where anyone can post, contact a member, harvest photos to create fake ads?

I don't believe I ever detailed our experience with scammers when we were selling our LTV, but we encountered some very skilled ones coming from our Facebook ad (and that was even in a private group.)  We ended up pulling that ad and advertising solely via RV Trader.
