I broke my TV

Hi everyone,
Getting into the drivers seat this morning I hit my head on the tv.
Just turned it on now and this is all I see.

Is this bracket TV specific?

Frank, when you get your new TV, just purchase a new bracket for it as well.  Most likely, that one won't work, but you could try.  You must have hit that pretty hard!  OUCH!

I did but didn't think much of it....especially that I broke it completely.

Until now!

I don't understand exactly what you are looking at or for, however most flat screen  T V sets have a standard bolt pattern for the mount bolts. The only thing you have to be careful of is the length of the screw vs the depth of the hole.  ^.^d

Hi Gerry

Just trying to remove and replace as easy as possible since we are on the road.

The picture is the bracket that holds the tv. I don't know if it's brand specific or will work on any tv.

Most brackets have a standard hole pattern.  Most TVs have a standard hole pattern.  It would be unusual for a bracket to be proprietary to a specific TV.

Just measure what the current bracket has for a hole pattern and check the mounting specs on a replacement TV.

What is the VESA standard and which one I´ve got?

The bracket should work for the next TV. The problem you might run into is they all seem to use a different size and length of bolts for mounting. Some require spacers, some don't.

Hope you head is OK, based on the size of that crack.

I always made fun of folks that put their hat on backwards, but I find that I am able to see stuff I run my head into better and sometimes miss them if have the bill of my hat in back.  I like that skull cap insert though.  I really have hit my head a lot and bled a lot.  That seems like good addition to my wardrobe.

Around the yard and working on the coach all I wear is a welding cap and yes the bill goes to the rear. Not only improves visibility but keeps grease and dirt out of my hair.

Hi everyone,
We purchased a new tv , same brand, and the mounting bolts required are M6.

The old tv , same brand, also had M6 bolts on the bottom but the top bolts are considerably larger. I'm pretty sure that did not come like that from the factory, and I don't know it was done with out taking the tv apart.

Will the 4 M6 bolts be strong enough? They are grade 8.

Here is a pic of the two bolts , smaller one is M6.
The second pic is the back of the old tv with the threads for the larger bolt.

If the manufacturer specs the TV with mounting holes for M6 bolts, I would guess they will probably be strong enough.

Televisions get lighter on a given size when new models come out.

Just make sure you have tight fits, without the bolts bottoming out. You can use washers to fill gaps

Our 1989 GV came with an enclosure for a 13" tube type TV-central built in above the dash.
My head seemed to never learn to stay away from the corners of that enclosure. So I removed the TV, the enclosure, and now there is what appears to be another lift-up access door in line with the two existing doors. But it isn't a door. Just a place to mount our atomic clock.
I made a TV mount out of wood that allows me to hang our 32"TV (WITH TWO ALUMINUM TUBES BENT TO SLIDE INTO THE TWO HOLES IN THE WOOD)
Now, when we get to our destination I just slide the two tubes into the holes, fasten the safety pins and the TV hookups, and we are set.
If not staying long--like overnight--we have a 9"TV already on the dash that doubles as the monitor for our rear camera.
