window roll up shade

Hi, I noticed some frays on my entry door roll up shade
i took it home to find a fix for it since i couldn't find a replacement for it
i was planing to go to home depot and by one , to remove the fabric and install it on mine
i couldn't match one , i decided to try to fix mine , if it didn't work then I replace the fabric
to remove the roll up tube from the frame, i bushed in the center black button on the end of frame but was not able to remove
the roller assembly out, and pushing that button, released the spring and i was able to pull out the whole curtain
laying it on table i cut all the fraying ( by cutting 1/16 of an inch from the whole edge and to prevent from happening again i used some clear fray glue ( suggested by Hobby Lobby )
now I got stock of how to roll back the curtain on the tube
watched some you tubes, but they show to remove the tuve from the bracket and wrap whole curtain on and put back in the frame
I assume that the black buttons on the end of frame are to do so using a flat screw driver
any advise?

Replacing our door shade soon as the material it's made with has become sticky with age.
We'll be taking down all the old (roller and all) and replace with something premade.
LOTS of options, maybe a bottom up shade? Another roller? Dual shade (day/night)?

While not answering your question it may be an alternate path gets you where you want with this project.

Very interested in what you use for an option as our front door shade has become sticky also.  As a matter of fact a lot of the faux leather has become sticky especially the ceiling.  We are trying out the Malco product soon as I can get out there.

Agreed.  I'm always amazed at the lengths that manufactures will go to in order to save cowhide. It's almost as though cows are in short supply.
I bought a Knoedler leather captains seat and the leather is amazing.  Please report back on the effectiveness of the Malco cleaner.

We cleaned and cleaned the old the old material just to have it get sticky again.
While redoing our entry step (dreaded soft step syndrome) the panel in front of the passenger seat somehow was cut.
Ended up reupholstering the entire front dash and overhead.
Since we were on a roll the old TV box is gone too, redid that area and moved theTV to center.

Quite happy with the results of our DIY project... then I realized we didn't upgrade the roller shade...DANG!!!!
Not enough material was left anyway.... so we are looking at other ideas.

Might be bending this thread a bit  :D
