vin compliance

I've watched a couple of videos on the couple from Canada that wanted to sell their Newmar coach in the US.

Apparently with their separate Sparton chassis there is no vin # on the chassis from Newmar. This has made the coach illegal to bring across the border. After watching the video I went out to our coach to see about the vin plate. I guess the fact that its just glued to the plastic panel was one of the issues. I'm not sure if this could be an issue with ours or not because of the Montaque chassis. I have never seen the vin# anywhere else on the steel chassis. What's your thoughts. Jim.

Jim,

On your coach it should be on the frame rail behind the left front tire.  You will have to turn the wheel to the right and you should be able to see it on the rail. Now you might have to take a wire brush and clean that area off but the numbers you are looking for should be there.

Mike, thank you. Went out and looked, yes it is stamped there. Eases my mind a bit. Can't imagine going through that. Jim.

I wonder about the coaches build on Spartan Chassis?

My 2014 is on a Foretravel Chassis.  If I think of it I will look on the frame tomorrow.

A non-RVing friend sent me that video today and I have to admit, it made me go check mine and I was happy to see it stamped on my 2014 IH frame.
