Keith Risch & Gary Adkison

I just returned from Nacogdoches, TX for some repairs on my 1995 U320 C SE.

The drive from Tucson, AZ and back was well worth the effort!

As most of you know these gentlemen are the best of the best when it comes to Foretravel repairs.

Keith and his crew fixed my HWH leveling system, Primus hot water system, water pump relays, installed new front shocks, and more all in one day!

They discovered my rear bulkhead rot which is common in most Foretravel's.

So I moved next door to Gary Adkison's body shop for the needed bulkhead repair. Not Gary's first rodeo and his crew did a fabulous job fabricating the new bulkhead to much better than new. Heavier steel and solid foam the new bulkhead will be around longer than the entire coach.

Since newer Forum members often have a hard time determining the location of Keith's shop, I would like to suggest that, in the future, his address and/or contact info be added at the bottom of every "Happy Customer" post.

There are precious few expert technicians left who specialize in working on Foretravel coaches.  We need to support them any way we can.

Glad to hear they got you fixed up.  ^.^d

How long did it take for Gary's team to do the bulkhead repair?  (of course pictures are always welcome !)

Agree.  Hopefully ones like Keith who know the differences between years, things to look for, etc. pass on the tribal knowledge to the younger techs at their shops.  Stuff like what type of fluid (and how much) goes in what year AquaHot, what grease to use on the Meritor brakes, that the threads on the hoses of a Splendide aren't the same as the hoses sold at Lowes, etc.  The younger or newer techs who haven't worked on a pre-Spartan-chassis'd Foretravel aren't going to know about important things like these unless that info is shared and explained.

I am no longer able to actively work on those years of coaches, so am trying to pass on what knowledge that I have.

I'm glad to hear that they were able to work on the Primus system, very few out there.
Just curious, what did they do to it, what was wrong?

We found Keith in 2008 or so, when he worked for Bob McGrath(?) many years ago. We were new purchasers of a '93 U225 and had NEVER owned an RV of any kind before!  Complete numbskulls.  He found ancient parts for us to fix thermostats, light fixtures, and other things that I cannot remember. We were treated to tutorials that were priceless.  SUCH a treasure trove of knowledge. Encyclopedic.  A quiet guy who just shared what he knew and never took advantage of ignorant newbies.  I cannot speak highly enough of him ... or all the other guys like him.  Many of those guys are here on this Forum and share their skills, stories, and photographs like spreading gold.  Thanks to all of you!
