Without Alternator

Question, am I right in stating that if one's alternator dies that one could turn on the boost switch and run forever as long as the house battery's stayed charged?

I will post on both Yahoo and ForeForum.

Thanks, Jerry

If the alternator dies, you can turn on the GENERATOR and the boost switch to keep batteries charged.
Without the Generator or Alternator the house batteries will be discharging.
So the Gen takes the place of the alternator charging if you are driving and the alternator fails.

The new Leece Neville brush-less alternator has corrected one of the biggest reasons for alternator failures, when the time comes for me to replace mine I will install the new BLD 2130GH 160 amp brush-less. 8)
P.S. Did you know that Leece Neville recommends that the brushes be inspected every 2 years.
