Water pump and "shore" water together

Vested interest aside, I like the search facility and having the Yahoo posts migrated here  ;D

The water pressure is a little low here so I searched the archive to see if we could run the water pump without shutting off the campground water spigot and low and behold

So I ran a test this morning and what a difference!  Of course we'll make sure we have plenty of water in the fresh tank when doing this.  It sure was nice to have decent water pressure, given today was hair color day....

I have to agree. I rarely used the Search on Yahoo but I am finding it very useful using it here.
Some of the archives have answers from members who are long gone and may not be available if it was not for a good search capability.

That is very true.  I have run both city water and the pump by accident one time and boy was I happy I saw how that worked. Just fill the tank every couple days. Especially if you are at a grandvention with 8 am breakfast. The shower load is impressive at the campground last time but then again the pressure was not that impressive till I turned on the water pump. IT would be interesting to know how much water you do use when you do that...

We have done this for years. It is my understanding that when running the water pump one uses tank water, no shore water. In the winter when campground water is ultra cold, using tank-pump water eases the heat required to get hot water as tank water is already warmed by the basement heat.
No RV! Have hung up the keys.

I do not know that you are right. I was outside one day and I watched water go through my filter as the shower was being run on the pump and the shore water.. I wonder if the year of the coach makes a difference. I have a 2001

I have always gotten better water pressure at the shower when using the tank & water pump vs. campground hook-up unless the campground spigot pressure is really good.  I do have a sedimant pre-filter at the bay hook-up (household type) so maybe that is also not helping the cause for the water pressure from the campground.  Also there is the proverbial water pressure regulator I use at the spigot before the water hose to contend with.  As these regulators go bad, they allow less and less pressure until it just does not allow any water through.
