I reconfigured my original Thetford connection and cut my original drain pipe fitting off and put on the Valteria fitting. I got so tired of using old fittings that constantly leaked because the fastening bands never fit properly. I like using the new sewer hoses with the permanent swivel fittings that are permanently attached and much easier to use. Keep it simple and clean.....if you can.

I use a bare 20' hose with the original Thetford fitting.  I attach the hose to it with plastic ties so nothing impedes stowing the hose.  I carry an extra 10' hose in the propane bay for difficult campsites.  I use a red screw on union to mate the hoses.  At the sewer end I use a blue elbow with multiple screw sizes at each side to fit all known sewer connections.  They even tightly mate with various sizes of straight sewer pipe.
