I'm with Bruce, I would think your florescence lights would be 12 volts and I took them out and
replaced them with strip LEDs.

Easy to answer your own query.
Turn off your inverter, generator off, shore power disconnected.
Try turning on all the lights in your coach.  The ones that work must be 12V.

If you are a Do-It-Yerselfer, there are numerous threads on this Forum explaining how to remove the fluorescent guts from your 12V powered light fixtures, and replace with stick-on LED strips.  It is not a difficult project, only requires simple hand tools, and is fun!

Try reading the thread below for some ideas:

Very easy mod but requires removing the old ballast. These LEDs are quite brite and use very little power. Figure out what color/temperature light you prefer.. DW like 2700 kelvin so that's what we have. Looks like link is redirected to 6000K color, couldn't find the 2700K. Buyer beware of color change. The 6000 is on the blue side of pure white IMO. A definite plus would be some sort of easy dimming?

While I haven't used the ones you linked to, I have used a similar (link below) LED direct swap for fluorescent type bulb in the porch light.  They looked a bit different than the ones in your link and more like an actual fluorescent.  They work great, even with the touch on function of the door handle.

Me too. It's a fairly easy DIY project if you take your time. The ballast is heavy and uses a lot of power. I removed the ballasts.

I did not need to remove any ballast.  just switched the old dead fluorescent bulbs for two of these in the link.  plug and play so to speak.

Those ballasts might still be drawing power. Do the replacement bulbs require a ballast? I have limited knowledge but I do not believe you still need them...I'd check it out and disconnect them if possible.

If you read the two bottom lines it said to remove or bypass the ballast. Another one someone posted said you don't need to
remove the ballast but I don't see how they could be that efficient as the ballast would use power.

I just went by the info provided in the link by the seller: "Direct Replace 12'' T5 5W tubes Under- Cabinet Lights to get over 50% light and energy saving PLEASE NOTE. Direct replacement ballast compatible the ballast must work in order for this bulb to work."

It functioned as indicated and is a great, quick, replacement.  As it was a 4 pack and the porch light only uses 2, I should be good to go for a long time, given LED lifespans.

To answer Mr. & Mrs. Unit# 5896's (name ?) florescent bulb question, florescent bulbs are connected to a ballast. Ballast can be powered from any voltage, like 12v OR 120v, etc, so bulbs are not voltage specific.

Without a ballast, florescent bulbs will not light up.

LED lights can be directly powered by 12v systems without a ballast, like many have done.

As meter measured, our bright LED 12v lights that look similar to a regular florescent bulb have a built-in heatsink that gets quite warm and draws about as much current than the original OEM florescent/ballast 12v lamps but were much brighter and did not wear out.
