Replaced the silica crystal cat litter inside the coach . I use half of a bag front and rear in open buckets to control moisture inside the coach when in storage.Gam

Oil and filter changes on the 10KW. 4 quarts, Napa gold 1064 (oil) and 3390 (fuel). 210 hours since last filter change (Sept 2010). 400 more hours to next air filter change (Napa gold 2276).
I need to replace the iso mounts. Only issue found - lock bolt for tray had vibrated out and the gennie was riding 2" forward, contributing to the vibration.

Six degrees this morning, roads are clear, no snow in the forecast so after turning on the block heater last night, checking engine oil and coolant, tire pressure and making preparations to get under way we opened the doors to the barn and started our coach, let her warm up, and pulled out for a twenty minute drive.  She started right up, no hesitation. Very good feeling.  After our drive the coach was up to normal operation temps and it was time to back into the barn, a 400 ft trip with about 150 degrees of turn.  While the roads are free from ice our gravel driveway is not and there was a bit of slipping going on until I stopped and put down some sand.  Life is good!  Some dewinterizing to do and then we are leaving for Nac next weekend and then points west for 4-5 weeks.

This is our third season with our Foretravel.  We have great confidence in its reliability and a much greater understanding of how all of the various systems work thanks in great part to the generous help from fellow owners on this forum.

See you on the road, our tag says it all, Home 2.

Thanks a bunch, I think you guys just saved me a boat load of $$$. I forgot to mention that home is about 30 miles northwest of Bangor Maine. If parked here in the winter outside it could possibly qualify as extreme.

Do not have indoor storage at this time, ground to frozen for construction.

Last weekend we removed the rear double stainless bumper to repair 2 cracks in the fiberglass on each rear corner just above the bumper. That bumper is as heavy as it looks and myself and 2 young men sat it to the ground. The 2 young men faired well but I have been taking aleve since then for my back. The young man did a really nice job repairing the cracks and repainting. Over the past 2 years I have had some yellow stains appear on/ in the gel coat. The man I have hired told me to get a bottle of 3m 06060 extra cut compound and we took that and a 7 in polisher to a 2 ft stain. It is cutting it off and left a pretty and white gel coat behind. We will togeother do the entire coach starting this weekend. I am anxious to complete the face lift on the 280 as it is a job over due... We will apply a coat of wax after finished. The 3m 06060 is a good product but at $42.00 a quart with tax it should be.

Today was a nice day in Cincinnati.  Temps in the 60's so it was a good time to take Forrest out for a 30 mile jog.  Exercised the genset, Roof & dash A/C's, etc.  All is good in the universe.  All workings are in good order. Tires checked and no air was needed to go on the track.  Boost solenoid working, pumped the air disk brakes as usual to keep the slide pins moving, retarder okay, etc.  Next routine in 30 days when we'll likely go to the spa at Cummins Bridgeway to get the full body treatment and annual physical...colonoscopy, all fluid tranfusions and all  ;D

I joined the resonator club today. Installed the 50x50XL using part of the original exhaust componets and a new 5" 45 and 90 degree elbows. Mine is 5" right off the turbo so no reducers needed. Sound is a little deeper but not excessively loud. Have not drove it yet but I expect a little increase in performance and hopefully maybe better mileage.

Two things I was pretty sure I would never do.  We left Hastings, MN this AM.  There is more than a foot of snow on the ground and it rained all day yesterday.  This morning was wet bu no more rain and none of the snow predicted.  We left for Nac.  As soon as we hit Iowa it started to rain seriously then about Ames it snowed for about two hours.  I stopped once to clear the wipers.  There was almost an inch of snow plastered to the front.  A bit further on it returned to rain and then just mist.  Never thought I would drive in the snow.  Then because we were cautious and careful and drove a reasonable speed (saw 8-10 cars in the ditch) we were a bit behind schedule and drove through Kansas City in the dark on our way to Camp Walmart in Olathe.  Safe and Sound!

We found fuel just North of KC at $3.799/gal.  Filled up.  The 494 mile trip to that point used 50.2 gallons according to my newly installed VMSpc.  That is 9.84 mpg pulling my 3600 lb Jeep Wrangler at 65-67 mph except when the snow was falling.

Life is Good!  Nac for service on Wed.

Warming trend this week - perfect time to explore Nac.  I wonder if the azaleas are blooming at Mize Gardens yet?

Answer: It's about 2 weeks too soon. By the last week in March, first week in April, azalea's will be at their peak. A few bushes are blooming, but not the majority.

Bought two new director's chairs from HF. Now going to get rid of the "bag" chairs as they are uncomfortable after awhile and start the back hurting. These new chairs have a tray on one side and a multi-pocketed bag on the other side.
Construction is quite good. Weight capacity is 250#. Seat height is 24". Fabric color is green.
Price was $27.99 each. Had 20% off coupon so price was $22.39 each. Not bad for something that will be used a lot.

Attachment worked so I'll try one more. I had to extend the existing concrete pad a little over 4' to get the nose of the Foretravel inside a fence. I poured  a free floating pad,and blocked in two piers. So I now have a split tailed parking spot. Works well to get all the way around the differential or checking the breaks. Turn the Foretravel around and you can work around the front end. Because it's free floating with that 350 HP diesel at Ideal the pad dose move but will not crack.GAm

Well, reorganized the basements so all my sound equipment would fit in with my regular entertainment supplies (tables, grill, chairs, etc)
Installed a TV slide to mount the small outside tv to instead letting it bounce around in the basement.
Oil change next Monday and she'll be ready for the races in Homestead the following Weekend (22nd -24th)
Fingers crossed that the car holds together this weekend as I'll finally have some competition in my class.
OOOooooo, and I finally found the adapter so I can flush the holding tanks! Can you say FUN? LOL

Must be something going around. I did the same thing.  I cleaned out one whole bay. I have a small fridge down there so we can survive while David changes out the current one for the residential model.

Today,  I am installing a 31 inch sound bar with built in woofer by Hitachi which I picked up at Sam's.
This will be under the storage cabinets on the passenger side all the way to the rear next to kitchen.
When traveling last summer I noticed that It was difficult to hear the TV over the air conditioners.
This will allow me to turn the volume up or down in the front and also have the sound bar to bring up or down the volume in the kitchen area.  This way no one is blown out at one end trying to hear.  I am also putting a switch on the aux air compressor so I can turn off, if desired, without having to pull the fuse.  I have also traced a thumping noise which sometimes appears over the driver's head.  It is in the roll up TV antenna.  Tks DAN

Replaced the funky 20year old worn out recliner (Cindy made me replace it) with a Lane Oakbrook 28" wide swivel rocker recliner similar to the Lazy boy Harbor Town model.  Oakbrook Rocker Recliner - Lane 1729 We had the swivel feature added and also the round base. It's very comfortable and plenty big enough for an average sized person.  It gives more space in the living room and I didn't have to bolt it down.  I've always loved a good rocking chair and now I have one in my coach!  Also with the money saved over other more expensive models I can think about other mods.

We also gave the carpet a good cleaning since it is springtime here and time to get busy!  The carpet is still in good shape after 20 years like Don and Trudy Hay's and its amazing what a good cleaning does for the psyche!
