At the SEA Rally at Brooksville I had both windshields replaced. They covered half the deductable so my cost was $250! Excellent job. I'd tried to have these same folks replace them while in Oregon last summer and they said they couldn't ge tthe glass. Glad I waited and got both pieces dinged enough to cover on one deductable.

Installed the rebuilt carburetor on the my 2900 today. The 460 runs much better, but need to change the plugs as the carb was running to rich before the rebuild.
Also bought seven new solar panels and a 45 amp Morningstar TriStar controller. Just need to find a good deal on 4 Trojan T105's.

Today I drove the coach to Wilmington NC (325 MILES 1 WAY) for the BB55 Fire Power Tour tomorrow, looking forward to learning more about the 5" & 16" Guns.  Nice trip since had to get another pc with serial port for the VMSpc as the old pc died.
Parked at one of my favorite spots Cracker Barrel, short drive to the ship in the AM.

By the way the new Samsung 24 cuft frig, is a wonderful replacement for the origional gas/electric fire/time bomb.

Great to hear since we are presently discussing the need for a new basement freezer/using that $ and going residential upstairs instead - net more capacity than we currently have with the 2 units.  Will need to research further since I don't see the Samsung currently in Lowes' inventory.

I replaced my 7 year old starting battery today and finally identified the reason my turn signals weren't working. Somehow I must have inadvertently pulled off a spade connector. I checked all the fuses for continuity and one was totally dead. The one with the disconnected spade connector. b^.^d

My boost solenoid was not working (clicking, but not connecting the batteries). I removed it and did open-heart surgery on it - I pried off the cap, and a-haa, the copper ring that the solenoid pulls down and the terminal contact pads were corroded with a black film on the copper - after 22 years. I used some sandpaper to brighten up the copper, re-assembled everything and crimped the cap on, and now the boost switch connects the batteries. Cost of the repair - $0.00.

Removed all three belt tensioners for the belts on the 3116 Cat.  Only one is squeaking, but I'll replace the bearings in all three since they are probably the same age.  I'll carry them to a machine shop tomorrow to get the bearings pressed out and then buy new bearings.  While I'm at it, I am going to follow Brett Wolfe's advice and drill a new hole in the idler arm for the hydraulic pump to detension the belt.

Plastic part broke in my single handle kitchen faucet and I thought I too would just buy a new one.  Cheapest we could find the OEM Moen faucet which we really like was $250+ so, I quickly decided to get the internal parts and just fix it and spiff it up.  Looks like new and works great for about $40 in parts.

We have had excellent experience with the manufacturer. In previous SOB, Moen replaced needed parts at no charge. In current FT, American Standard has done the same. Both of these have lifetime warranties.
Always worth a call to ask them.

This must be faucet day. Our kitchen sink faucet had been leaking with as much water on the counter as in the sink. We looked at some Euro faucets but the German varieties were $299 to $800. Since this was out of the question, where else could a nice faucet be found? Answer; China and it's buddy, Ebay. Here is the Euro style faucet we decided on: New 16" Brushed Nickel Kitchen Sink Faucet Pull Out Down Dual Spray Swivel Spout  Looks the same for about 25% of the price.

Installation: in order to remove the old faucet, it has to come out the bottom but before that, the major parts can be removed by taking off the lever and spout from the top. They just unscrew. The working space below is VERY tight. You can see it easily but have to really twist and turn to get wrenches back there to remove the water connection. What should have been a 15 minute job turned into an hour and a half.

Tools: just a couple of end wrenches, bright work light and a couple of adapters from any plumbing or hardware store. One large wrench is needed to secure the large brass nut that holds the faucet from turning. Lots of patience also needed as well as muscle relaxers when finished. No teflon sealant is needed, the rubber O rings work fine.

It works well with the stock water pump. You have to push the button for a spray. The button automatically returns to straight stream when the water is turned off.

There are two colors for the covers for holes left in the Corian. Off white matched ours perfectly. They only had one so waiting for the other one.

Second photo shows the location for one of the adapters.

Installed (with help from a muffler shop) a new AquaHot exhaust.  The old one had rusted pretty bad and I was tired of having the exhaust come out under the living room slide.  There was no way to open the window even if just using the AquaHot for hot water.

It's a 1.75 inch pipe welded from two pieces and mounted with 3 hangers.  I used the old chrome tip which was very pitted but sanded and sprayed it with high temp aluminum color paint.  The tip is butt mounted with a strap which was cut down from one for a larger diameter pipe.  (Most fun part of the whole project.)

I will paint the whole pipe to reduce the chance of rust and may add a heat shield over the first bend.  Infrared temp sensor showed it got to almost 300 degrees at the bend --- really not that bad but who needs that heat baking the bottom?

Additional plus is the long pipe really cuts down on the exhaust noise.

Must be a kitchen faucet week. I replaced the kitchen faucet with an American Standard that I picked up at Lowe's. I also installed two shut offs. I removed the shelf under the sink when we first moved into the coach to store some tall stuff under there. That a and shark bite fittings made the installation a as snap.

Reupholstered the sofa with ultra suede (generic) and recovered the valances, both in something other than the "zebra" stuff that Ray,s sister had put in there originally. It looks fantastic. I am very pleased and so is the HLWAIC. I haven.see the bill yet.

I replaced both dump valves and while I had the valves out also replaced the water check valve as it can not be changed while the dump valves are in place.

Had the carpets (original - 21 years old and still in great shape) professionally cleaned. Finally fixed the locking mechanism of the biggest storage bay (D2). Apparently over the years the frame has twisted just enough that the tang wouldn't insert behind the frame member. Some "high-pressure" bending of the tang solved the problem. It required disassembling the locking mechanism and a few e-clips, but all is well.

Just a quick Note of thanks to the forum as a community.
I had to replace the chassis batteries over the weekend and after some close visual and audible inspection, noticed that the belt tensioners were really squealing at me. After a bit a searching I found Barry's information and along with some other input, ordered the 2 Gates 38504 tensioners from Amazon.

Glad to be a part of the group.

I got the bill for reupholstering my sofa (ultraleather) and recovering the valances. A bit less than $400. My DW ordered the material from some place in Naples, FL. It was less tha $100 and the labor was $295. I am one happy camper.
