Jerry,

Brett moved the whole panel up under the bed. Thought that was really a good idea as the present location is terrible, picks up a lot of road moisture and rusts in a hurry. Will take some measurements and if I get to it, will post photos.

Yes, the HF creeper works well and for $30, a pretty good deal.

Forum is a good deal whether a seasoned shade tree mechanic or a novice.

Got the coach out of the shop here at FOT. The outside faucet was not working, apparently the PO had an issue with freezing water and the thing was split. Their idea of a repair was to wrap the split with electrical tape. Was not a big issue with me as we don't use it all that much. Decided to replace it while I was here. Was not as simple as I envisioned but it was not that difficult to replace.

Had four grand sons help sort out stuff under the coach and then re-seated the tubes in the proch light. They work so I'll wait until they go bad to put in the LEDs I got for there.

Went to the storage warehouse.  Moved coach back 40' so someone could get their Airstream out.  Weather still too horrible to use so gave it a pat and went home.

Washed the front. Been cooking for a couple of weeks in the heat and not supposed to do it here but with so many already having gone north and man still here at the beach...well...it just looked like I could get it done and nobody would be the wiser.

Bought 2 ounces of 100% peppermint oil, a big bag of cotton balls, and a roll of heavy-duty aluminum foil. I made-up 12 packets, each with about 8 cotton balls that I soaked with about 25 drops of the oil -- folded them up and poked holes in the foil.

Then I placed them in each basement bay down both sides, and another in behind the fridge -- accessed through the outside service door.

Previous to this, after having vacuumed probably 20-30 lbs of turds out from the galvanized belly trays and behind the basement trim panels, repaired all the chewed-thru wires, and wire-brushed the trays to remove the corrosion damage from the mice/rats urine to the galvanizing and re-spraying new material -- I took the advice of someone on the forum and bought a bunch of the copper brillo-type pads and stuffed them around any opening where cables and wiring came through a bulkhead along the length of the Coach.

Hope that does it.

Thank goodness they had never gained entry upstairs at all.

Spent a few days at FT last week.....installed new back up camera, undated inside window treatments, installes a VSR so all batteries are being charged when stored and put on new tires all around, balanced and front end alignment. That's enough for this year!

Bought it a ReadyBrake for the toad--delivered this morning. Can't use air brake or hydraulic brake auxiliary systems on our coach and this seemed the best alternative. Reviews were real good and method of actuation is easily understood by this slightly above average idiot.

US gear makes a braking system that uses the toad's hydraulic brakes. Simple to use, activates through the pig tail (connection for the lights). Works well.

More like a week or two, Hahaha,
Have got the steering all sorted out, made a new steering box holder, stiffened it up quite substantially, Finally got the drag link out, Cant swing a hammer under there, So I had to make a couple of pullers up, It went off with a bang when it finally cracked off,

Its now getting a brand new Drag link made up, It will have a ball joint each end, and bigger ball joints, Ford ones, I can buy them off the shelf any where here, I just screw them into the drag link each end, I dont have to buy a drag link ever again,

The steering box was an inch short when I put it back in, so I lowered the steering wheel, cut a bigger hole in the floor, Different angle, Fits perfect, A new rubber seal under the floor mat for the steering column,

The windscreen came out today, Its off to the supplier to have a new one made, They will make a mould for it, At least we will now have an Aussie supplier for our screens,

I had a groove in the window, It could not be epoxyed as it was on the corner, and the buffing would have created distortion to the screen, and would not pass a roadworthy,

I had to make up a platform for the installer to stand on, to get the window out, 4 feet off the ground,

The batterys and terminals are all cleaned up with Bicarb soda and ready to go back in, I will paint the battery box first,
The acid was 1/2 an inch thick in the box, The terminals were white fuzzy things,

Replaced the burnt out wires on the motor, Just old age I think,

Now to work on the bus electrics, Not my Forte, Just take my time, I will get there,

Quite a few clearance and coloured lights and reflectors had to be changed, Wrong colours for OZ,

Had to put a, Do not pass turning vehicle,  sign on the back as it is longer than 7 metres,

Crash course in learning all about my Bus, well worth the effort, As if it breaks down out in the back blocks, I can fix it on the side of the road, and it wont leave me stranded,
I shouted it a full set of 3/4 drive sockets, Ratchet and bars, up to 2 inch, I needed them to get the front wheel off,

Still very impressed with my Coach, The stress of buying unseen and from another country. now totally gone,

Thanks for your help, The people on here are wonderfull, and full of good advice,

Cant wait to take it for a decent drive, and go camping in it,

The couple of times that I have driven it, People stand and look at it, Its quite a novelty here, It definately stands out,

Cheers,

After 5 attempts as repairs/replacement, my water faucet in the wet bay no longer leaks.  The culprit was a loose valve seat on the cold water side.  Replaced both rubber valve seat seals twice, "O" rings once.  Purchased new valves from a plumbing supply house after calling the manufacturer to get the part Number of the faucet and the valves.  Replaced the new valve seats using plumbers putty.  Reassembled with new valves and still leaked.  I removed the new valve seats, used Teflon tape on the threads and it no longer leaks...drip.....drip.....drip.....  The original Cold valve seat was loose, not tight when I removed it.  I didn't think about it at the time but I should have removed the original valve seats to clean, inspect and reset.

Should have done that first and it would have saved me lots of aggravation and 25 bucks. ???

Had a front end alignment and replaced the two front tires, in the last couple weeks. The last three days did a wash and a three stage wax. So glad I had the help of a tall young man in the neighborhood.

In preparing to leave on a trip tomorrow, I checked the engine compartment for anything unusual. Found the wren's nest. Disposed of that fire hazard.

While cleaning out the debris from the nest, I saw the spring hanging loose. It was the throttle return spring which Barry and Cindy, and others, have mentioned. My brackets look good, but the hook of one of the springs had worn through. I formed a new hook and latched it up. I think this is a satisfactory solution. It's any easy fix. Having two functional springs reduces the chance of an ugly surprise. Thanks for the information on the C8.3 engine, Barry.

Started packing up stuff getting ready to leave Ft Myers on Thurs AM for NE Tennessee and another SOWERS project. Grand kids about wore us out down here! Replaced both wipers...what a job! Nuts were stuck and had to use vise grips. Broke a nozzle from the washer on pass side.
