New Owner

Many thanks to all the contributors whose knowledge and helpful nature make this forum an invaluable resource for gathering information and opinions on all aspects of motorhome ownership and to the moderators for making use of this forum such an enjoyable experience.  You folks are the greatest!

We just arrived home in a new to us 36ft. '99 U320 and the information here will be valuable beyond description as we use, maintain, and upgrade our first motorhome.

So thanks again and please know you folks are appreciated and held in high regard.

Congratulations and welcome.  I am sure you will love your new coach.  It appears to be a sister ship to ours and we have had several years and many miles of enjoyment with it.  This forum will definitely help you with the occasional problem or frustration.

Also, I do love your part of the country.  At least in summer time, which is the only time I have visited up there.

Agree, welcome! You will be amazed at the information you can glean here. This is our 1st Foretravel and 2nd MH. Just for giggles, I looked back on my experience; I have been a member of this forum for 5 years and during that time my "Foretravel" folder on my laptop has accumulated 1.49 GB of information, 1,426 files in 257 sub-folders! I have a 2nd "Foretravel Photos" folder with 2.39 GB, 1,216 files in 145 sub-folders! Hard for me to believe! And yet, I expect others have collected way more information than that.
It's clear that I have received far more than I have contributed.
Safe and happy travels!

Thank you for the warm welcome!  I'm overwhelmed with all there is to learn and now that we're home after our 2,400 mile ride home (first time driving anything larger than a Suburban) I'm ready to get started.

For the first time in over 25 years, I was out of the office for 5 days in a row while driving home.  Looking forward to a return trip to the southwest, but will spend more time each day out of the drivers seat.

Rick and Robyn,
Welcome to Foreforums.  We've been around for a long time and still learning so be patient and when you're stuck just ask.  Also, don't forget Barry Brideau's web site "beamalarm.com" where there is also an infinite knowledge base for Foretravels.

Enjoy the ride.  It's half the fun.

Rick & Robyn,  welcome to our community.  It is always where ever you are.  The best part of this Forum is the people, ready and willing to help, loaded with experience you can draw on and when you finally get to meet them face to face they are just as nice as you imagined although some don't quite look like their avatar.  Nice to see another Foretraveler "Up North".

Welcome! Welcome!!  So glad to hear that you had a fine first trip, even if it was a short one. Now the fun begins!!!  Remember .... there is no question too silly or experience too head-smacking for you to post here.  We have ALL done some spectacularly bone-headed things and missed some astonishingly obvious problems (or solutions).  This is the Forum and Confessional for all of that.  Jeff and I have made some of our best friends on this Forum ... and we have gathered a Network and a Technical Support Staff from the members here.  No kidding .... we are pretty dense about a lot of technical areas, but we are smart in knowing who to call when we have an issue ... there lies our genius!

Reading this Forum becomes a daily exercise ... and stuff that you don't currently need to know sort of seeps in by osmosis and pops up when you have a crisis.  We all look forward to seeing things on the coach through your fresh eyes ... don't be shy about piping up and passing stuff on!!

You're kinda from my neck of the woods.  When you get your ForeTravel Motorcade membership processed, you should be contacted by someone from Michigan Chapter.
My experience at Cummins Bridgeway was unsatisfactory. I think it would be worth the drive to Jackson and COMPLETE TRUCK REPAIR for engine and chassis issues. They have treated me very well -- me, a Barth diesel, a Dodge-based class B, and now my U295.

Thanks again to all for the warm welcomes.  I haven't come up with a question yet I couldn't come up with an answer for - what a great place to find out about all things Foretravel.  Looking forward to re-upholstering, powder coating all things brass, and replacing carpet, wood, and tile with vinyl plank flooring.

Morgan, Thanks for the service tip.  I have been wondering who to have do service work; there is a local diesel mechanic we've used for company trucks we've been pleased with.  There is also a Cummins Bridgeway about 30 minutes away in Saginaw.  Do you suppose the unsatisfactory service was a product of the specific Cummins Bridgeway you went and perhaps others are better managed?  Thanks again for the lead on Complete Truck Repair in Jackson.

I want to  also welcome you aboard.  I too am a new owner of a "new" 1997 Foretravel, although I've been gleaning knowledge from the forum for a long time.  I hope you really enjoy your new coach, and tell us about your adventures.

Rick,

As you pursue the powder coating, please keep us informed. I know many of us are a little bored with the brassy look.

Thanks,

As for Bridgeway, my experience at South Lyon might not be representative of other locations. I did join the Cummins "club" to get discounts as I do with FORETRAVEL
