New sureflo water pump cycling

Replaced my old one with a new. No leaks to be found but if left on, it will cycle once an hour for about 5 seconds like its losing pressure? Buddy thinks the pump is defective. What's your opinions

Put a cap on the output fitting and see if it cycles.

Your tank fill valve could be leaking......bypassing and letting a little water into the fresh water tank.

Don't think pump is defective. What model Shurflo pump did you install?

X 2.

Had the same problem. Drove me nuts until I noticed the fresh water tank filling.

My fill valve was not leaking but was allowing a small amount of water thru, because a prior owner had used too much force and slightly bent the "stop" on the lever, which allowed the valve to continue turning past the off position and start opening the valve.
Removed the lever, bent it back Into position and reattached - pump went silent!

Fill ball valve is clear on handle. Turns hard like it's working. FT made it real handy to replace! ha ha. Could my fresh water city valve on panel be leaking air? I'm thinking with the under sink valve closed and it shuts off properly, wouldn't matter. I had filled the tank to max and when I went around a corner a bit leaked out in the street but that was probably the overflow correct? I could install the old shurflow pump and see if it goes away

Yes it was probably the overflow, we always try to not go over the 7/8 full.
The wall of the tank is visible in the wet bay and I timed the fill and made a mark every 10 minutes of fill time. I can look and I will leave it for twenty minutes and know just how full it will be.
If you take the nut off the handle of the fill valve You can remove the floor panel and check the alignment of the valve for a true off position.
You could shut everything off at the manablock and see if the pump stops cycling, if it does it's a limbo g issue, open one supply valve at a time (closing it before you open the next one) and see if it's a dedicated line issue,
Check the over pressure valve (TPR) on the water heater to see if it's weeping wet - do not release this valve.

Talked to FT Tech Ronnie and he had me release the schrader valve on the accumulator tank. It squirted me in the face with water. Bladder is shot SO, I'll replace the tank and retest. I'll post the results.
Thanks

Indeed, with water coming out the schrader valve of the accumulator, it is BAD.  Replace it.

BUT (yes, large BUT) that will not cause the water pump to cycle on once all faucets are off.

Water leaks and/or leaking check valve will cause cycling.

Symptoms of a bad accumulator is pulsing when faucet partially opened and pump coming on immediately-- i.e. no stored water in the accumulator.

Dan, If you can, please post the part number for the accumulator tank, my pump keep running recently, I drained off the water in the accumulator tank, and it's been working, but I am going to do a replacement like you, as I'm sure my tanks is shot too.
Thanks

$$$ + tax + shipping + waiting to get it.    :o

Actually, if you just GOTTA have the Jabsco tank, it might be a relative bargain from FOT.  Amazon wants $206.59 (+ tax?).  :o    :o

But, personally, I would choose Mike's pick from HD.
