I don't remember what I paid for my konis at shock warehouse but it was around 170 I think. Previously  a member gave me a link to a company that claim they sold them. I ordered eight and never heard from them other than the initial email saying that they got my order. I gave him a credit card number they never billed me. I tried to get a hold of him multiple times to cancel it and when I couldn't get a hold of them I finally called my credit card company to dispute the charge that they never made LOL. The next day I ordered from shock Warehouse. My advice is order from shock Warehouse they have them in stock or at least they did the price was reasonable and they shipped out immediately other they came in two separate shipments

Bob can you share the name of the internet company that was not able to fulfill your order so other forum members don't make the same mistake?

Probably was WOTM...I did the same thing. I think it's a web scam. I never give out nmy CC info to any web sight I don't know. Only Pal Pal

They were like $120.00 each + shipping.

WOTM Racing - Wide Open Throttle Motorsports - Homepage

I looked at Shock Warehouse they are $167.00 each.

Ultra RV has them in stock, got tracking number, and invoice the same day. UPS shows them delivered today. $160.00 ea.

A buck, is a buck when you are retired...... :))

Correct Chris. That's them. Yeah saving $56 on eight shocks is no small change I guess. Still after the experience with wotm racing I decided to go with a dependable company and was willing to spend the extra money to get them in time.

Yes sir, it's an internet scam store, I'm sure. When a place doesn't have a phone number it's not good, and a sure sign.

It is amazing how real it looks. You set up an account, it even prints an invoice with tax. If you click on the Facebook link, it goes nowhere.

I went through this with a satellite dish heater before Christmas from another internet scam. That is why I use Pay Pal to pay for stuff. If you have an issue, they take care of it faster then through CC company.

When it came to "pay" it just had a place to put my email address for paying by Pay Pal. That was strange. But they never charged me.

Thinking about trying a set of Koni on my steer axle.. Seems like on deep dips my steer is lacking some cushion.. No unordinary bounce after coming out of the dip with the bilstein but does seem to use more airbag ..Bilstein is all I've had on 2 coaches so nothing to compare to. Pricey experiment but I've blown more.

That's funny twig and I were just discussing that on the beach here in Rocky Point about the differences between bilstein's and Koni.
we came to the conclusion at the only way of knowing would be someone who had had both. Why you can save a significant amount of money with the bilsteins over the koni I chose to go with the koni due to all the foretravel members that recommended them.

Most of us that have gotten the Konis had the Bilsteins and have been talking about a night and day difference for years,I got a kick out of Hans and Marjet the other day with a big difference comment, that's what we have been saying all along,I think it's a
mistake just to get half the shocks instead of all 8,the front and rear work together somewhat but to each his own.

Well I just  bought 4 Koni's  I was planning on replacing my bilstein's up front for now,  I could have had a more definitive answer.. Thinking about the high ratings maybe I'll put 2 in the front and 2 in the back and call it good.  8)

We will be twins! Not sure why, but our coach has a mix of 2 blistienes and two gold Koni's front back! It rides fine,
I bought 2 Koni's, so replacing the 2 front Bilsteins, then I'll move to the back later. I had already replaced two of my front bags, so replacing the other two at the same time.

Just trying to get some of the porpoising in big dips.Testing the Konis on the bench, they are really hard to extend. So hopefully that will do the trick. Also had a shock bolt, both front and back get slightly loose and rattle.

As long has the older Koni's are clean, and work fine, going to leave them. Will pull the bolts and possibly replace, for sure clean and lube them.

Btw way, I changed the prior two bags with the fenders on, thought I would try pulling the fenders, because the front air line/bolts are so tight to the step.

Only took 10 minutes to pull the fender.Probably only take double that time to reinstall, because of cleanup and reseal. In the long run, probably less time fighting it all, no dirt in my face.My shoulders will be happy too.

Not knocking you but how do you know the old Koni's are good?Wonder what Koni's opionion would be,I think the new ones will wear out faster if the old ones are not the same as far as dampening goes.My opionion is,if the coach runs ok with 4 it will run
better with 8.What are you lubing the nuts and bolts?

The orange Koni's are adjustable. Unhook the bottom push all the way up and turn. You will feel the clicks. Someone may tell you which way is stiffer but if you turn one way and count the clicks so you can get back where you started, trial and error will tell you what is looser and what is stiffer.

Reply to question 1,if you see any oil seeping from shock it's no good, remove shock from coach and manually compress/decompress,if you don't feel any dampening it's no good.If you can get your hands on a new shock the exact same
you can compare the 2 that way.If the shocks are 20 years or older they have to have some internal wear of the seals and components, just my opionions.Rule of thumb on a car is they are good for 40k miles, struts 80k.
