SeeLevel Install Completed

The original tank monitoring system in my coach has been inoperative since I purchased it in December last year.  So I ordered the SeeLevel II model 709 system and just finished the installation a few days ago.  The most challenging thing was routing the wiring from curb side to street side across top of fresh water tank from wet bay to the sewer bay, then up into the raceway that runs along the street side wall at the floor level.  Ending up in the space behind the bedroom TV and mounting the display in the bathroom.  I did leave wiring in the sewer bay for later installation of another display, if needed.  I used a fiberglass fish tape for most of the wiring pulls.  Joyce was there to help which made things much easier.  I mounted the sensors to the tanks with Gorilla Tape after cleaning with alcohol.  Time will tell if the Gorilla tape was a good move or not but it seems to stick as well as the adhesive on the back of the sensors.  The existing propane sensor works fine with the SeeLevel, but will have to wait till I fill up to calibrate it.  For 12v power, I connected to the starting batteries, thru a 7.5 amp fuse, so I could read that voltage on the SeeLevel.  The system works perfectly and I have 100% signal from all sensors.  I would definitely recommend this system to anyone who needs a working tank monitoring system.  My best advice for installation would be to have a well thought out plan on how to get the wiring where you need it.
I previously installed the same system in a Thor Challenger gasser.  It took three times longer to install and was a nightmare getting the sensors to work as the tanks were very oddly shaped and were very close to metal bulkheads (the accessible part of the tanks).  I ruined more than one sensor after they were installed and had to be removed for relocation.  And with existing wiring, the best signal I could get was 67%.
So compared to the Challenger, my hats off to the Foretravel and their construction that made it easier for me to install.

My two kits show up this week.  Did you have to use two sets of senders for any of the tanks due to height?

Bob stated awhile ago that he only put one strip in as he didn't care about how full it is above the strip.
Doing that makes sense to me.

Used the standard 16 in strips on the black and grey tanks.  They were a little short so I mounted them about an inch from the top of the tanks. I could see that the top of the tanks are not perfectly flat.  The strips are about 3 inches off the tank bottom.  I was more concerned when tank full than when empty.  The fresh water tank I used two 12 in strips and cut one section off bottom of each one.  Measures from just below the overflow hose to about 2 inches off bottom.  At my zero reading on the display for fresh tank, my fresh water pump is just starting to take longer to build pressure and shut off.
I did not pull the paper off the back of the strips to glue them to the tank.  They should be taped in place (per manufacturer) until you see that all are working ok. When I checked mine, I secured them with the Gorilla tape.
One important recommendation would be to read the manual that comes with it from cover to cover before you even start the installation.  It is very easy to get ahead of yourself and the manual is not necessarily in the correct order: as it depends on which sensors and such.  It will possibly save you some time.  Good luck!

I agree with that oldguy,  The concern for black and grey tanks are that you want to know when full to prevent overfilling. With fresh water tank, it is good to know when getting empty so you don't run out.  So mount strips for black and grey near top of tank and strip for fresh tank to near bottom.  The tops of the tanks are not flat so it should be taken into consideration, as instructed, the thickness of the tank walls and the deviations in the top.  I will also be noticed that the tank dimensions change slightly from full to empty.  I did not want to mount my fresh tank strips close to the top, as suggested by the instructions, because I wanted a 100% reading on the display without water flowing out the overflow.  And at $50 to $60 dollars a strip, might not want to use more than needed for whatever makes you happy.
