Bedroom speakers

Here's a fun one for you ...

I noticed voices coming from the bedroom. It was coming from the bedroom speakers on the base of the bed. Sounded like a radio host talking with some static. But nothing is on! The radio in the dash doesn't work. The Bose CD player doesn't work. The TV's were off. We unplugged and pulled things out of the cabinet over the drivers seat but the speakers are still playing.

Where is the hidden radio!?!

One questions leads to another question:  what is year model of coach and how long owned. . .

sounds like maybe dash radio, try unplugging its power plug

Do you have a Bose clock/radio in the bedroom?  My 2003 U320 does, and the speaker under the bed is connected to it.

Pull the wires off the speakers

What year coach/what Bose unit?

If these are the powered Lifestyle speakers in the foot of the bed, it's possible they are using the radio in the Bose head (they are wired in as "zone 2" on a Lifestyle system.)  I think they are controlled by a second remote (would be labeled "Zone 2").  You can also turn them off directly - there are volume knobs on them.  They plug into an outlet in the box at the end of the bed.

We had the exact same issue with the original Bose system when we purchased our coach..

BTW, if it is around a 2000, check for the recall on the Acoustimass module.  Bose PSA

We have upgraded to a used Lifestyle V35 from eBay.  While sound will play over those speakers, they cannot (as far as we have been able to determine) be controlled by the V35's remote.

My first thought was the dash radio but it hasn't been working. And it's only the bedroom speakers playing. We did pull the face plate off the dash radio and the bedroom speakers played on.

We have the alarm clock that can be seen when laying in bed. If there is a Bose clock radio I have no idea where it is. I've searched everywhere.

In a 2001 they are wired to the main Bose unit at the front of the coach.  It has a radio in it.

We have a 2001 U320. We did find two remotes but they're not labeled. We put new batteries in and they did nothing. The Bose CD player is in the cabinet above the passenger seat but it doesn't work. It won't turn on. I found the manual and it is a Lifestyle 30 series II system.

I did find the knob on the speaker so I turned it all the way down but it doesn't click to turn off.
We' ll lift up the bed today and see if we can unplug them.

On my lifestyle system, the power button on the head unit cycled through front, rear, and off. If the powered sub under the couch was not working, the front would not come on. In the bedroom there was a small "eye" in the drivers side cabinet that would see the remote and communicate to the head unit.it was a powered circuit that tied into another device that was above the driver in the cabinet before it made it's way to the bose head unit.

maybe right next door. Possibly a ham radio operator or even a cb radio running a linear amplifier  could be it.-. If the speaker wires the right length  . The older the radio the more likely it is not shielded as well. Just a thought. In the old days I could rip up channel  3  for a block around.

While stopped in Rawlin's Wyoming we stepped back into the coach and the radio speakers were sounding off with all kinds of ham radio traffic. Really weird, nothing was on in the coach. Original radio. Made me nuts. Jim.

Try the upper bedside cabinet on the passenger side of the bed, usually on the bottom shelf.
Some models have a separate radio in there for the bedroom.
It also has a separate antenna on the rear of the roof.

In my 2001 U320 the rear Bose speakers under the bed are amplified and plug into an a/c outlet in the puka under the bed...with a flashlight find the outlet, unplug it and the noise should go away.
