Yes FT did recover the chairs. They are the old spider legged chairs with new rocker and springs padding and recovered. Also they created an arm on the couch and the Table. They extended the slide room into the coach 9.5 inches too.

Installed new glow plugs in the generator and checked operation, all is good once again. Pulled the cover off of the water manifold compartment to investigate why the black tank gauge doesn't work the aluminum tape was loose. Just a fun day around the Foretravel.

Bathroom vanity was not draining very well, removed the trap and cleaned out the gunk from the trap and stem, draining well now, even get a tiny whirlpool. ^.^d

Roland, I read somewhere that pouring boiling hot water into a drain dissolves the soap and accumulated crud in the trap. I tried it and it does work, altho I had to pour two pots of boiling water with 10-15 minutes between pours. I then used a plunger to assist whatever solids might not have moved on. No problems since.

I do this when I fix pasta or lobster in the coach - pour the post-cook hot water down the bath sink.  And lest you think we "live large", during our summers in Maine lobster is cheaper per pound than hot dogs.

Be careful poring boiling hot water down plastic drains. It causes distortion and the expansion / contraction will cause the nuts to loosen. I have seen the plastic traps melt and fall off.

The source of most crud in the bathroom sink/vanity trap is accumulated toothpaste sludge. Unless you run copious amount of water while spitting the sludge down the drain it will accumulate in the trap and continue to trap other debris. This is my conclusion after years of rental property ownership and maintenance. After brushing we discharge our toothpaste waste into a cup that we later throw outside and rinse with a squirt from a water bottle. Since I changed to this technique, even in the sticks and bricks home, the trap cleanouts needed are far and few between.
Hope this helps,
Rick

The trap itself was clear. I removed it thinking that was the problem. The gunk was all trapped in the stem between the sink drain and the trap, and it was hairy gunk. Had I know this I could have removed the stopper and cleaned it out from above, that would have saved removing the shelf and trap. I usually clear drain stoppages using baking soda and white vinegar, just thought I'd make that drain squeaky clean this time.

Well, I finally did it!  I was so worried about the coach in these freezing temps, and the damage that would be caused by a failure of the AH if it occured that I went ahead and winterized the water system.  At least now I can have some peace of mind...

Spent $5000 for a new awning over my slide, a tiled entry and steps (redone from a previous post) oils changes, chassis lube, 3 new engine batteries and the coach is now parked in covered storage with power.  No more dead batteries :-)

Finished installing a 96" windshield shade with remote 12v control. This thing works so nice, just set back and push a button. No more fighting with the folding type that came with the RV. They were either open or closed, with the new shade I can park it in any position that I like.

Raymond, I ordered it through Countryside Interiors in Junction City, OR. The outfit is called United Shade LLC, and I believe they  are in Indiana. They shipped it direct to me. It is of good quality and works well. The remote is programable.

Today Forrest and I did the Jack Lalane thing... Exercise. It's been 54 days since the last exercise so I am a little bit overdue, But I was in Florida for a few weeks.

After a very cold spell, today is 65° here in Cincinnati.  The coach had a lot of condensation on the exterior and even in the interior engine parts due to the extreme change in temperatures. All batteries measured excellent on the DC voltages. The gemset ran great for about two hours. Then it was on the road for 30 miles. Afterwards topped off the diesel fuel tank at $3.80 per gallon.

Can't say enough good things about Foretravels.

I should have been washing the coach today in the 71 degrees we had but I was laid up and still am with bronchitis and by the time I feel better we are going to have another storm. I got to drive thru it last weekend and on the way home from TX so it is dirty and it looks like I will have to wait till I get the next warm day.

Installed double dome on Fantastic Vent due to cracking near the hinge. Just in time I think; the hinge broke off in my hand while getting it off the roof.

About 6 weeks ago the rear of our coach would leak down, and as time went on it was leaking down quicker. I checked aqir bags and lines and could not find any leaks, but appeared maybe it might be in the six pack manifolds. I took the air solenoids off and took them apart and cleaned them up and replaced all 3 o rings on each solenoid and now stays up, so am now a happy camper.

Had all 8 air bags replaced by a truck shop in Lufkin.  They were deteriorating on the  bottom (outside), and we decided to replace them before leaking started.  Probably would have been good for another 1-2 years, but we wanted to check that one off.  The one that I cut open looked mostly quite good inside but had a small area at the bottom that had some wear or deterioration, so I feel better about spending the money.

After seeing what a job it was to take them out, I would probably just wait for FT if I had to do it again (and we WILL NOT have to do it again... :))
