Only if things are within our budget for updates and repairs.. And now I'm really concerned that the end caps have not gotten the warranty/recall fix.. Hopefully FT will follow thru with the info. Or at least enlighten me on the odds of the the seams giving up. & cost to fix

Still sitting on the fence.... haven't gotten an answer from FOT as to whether or not the end caps have been repaired.
And do not know if the present FOT can access the repair history from the days of WA or CA dealer shops.

I'd assume the work was done at the ex-dealer outside of Spokane. Would wonder if they kept their service records?

well that was a bust, rv dealer at the former Liberty Lake FT location . has no connection to FT. so no history or archives to search.

Why don't you get it running and then worry about the end cap repair?
It can't be that hard to put a few batteries on it and see if it runs and what might not work.
If you can't do the work I'm sure you could find somebody that could help you, it sounds like a ex- Foretravel dealer is located near by, pay them to check it out.
If there is a major mechanical problem you won't have to concern yourself with end caps.
Take pictures of the end caps or ask the local ex-dealer to check them. I'm sure if you posted pictures of the end cap seams somebody on this forum would be able to see if a repair was made or if it is needed.

Climb up on the roof and look for cracks. No cracks = no problem.

The prob as I see it is that this coach is a time capsule.. It has barely 20k on the odometer, so has not experienced enough coach "flex" for the separation to appear, or so I'm thinking.
But that said, I do know that the slide needs attention(bladder kaput), will not go into travel mode(pressure switch?) .
It also needs batteries,tires, electronics updated including tv's and sat. Possibly will need air bags as well due to age.
Other upgrades would be gas cooktop with gas oven and re-do the flooring....I do not do shag carpet..with goat heads & red cedar cones stuck in carpet.
All this could run north of 15 coach bucks, without having to re do the roof if needed in the future.......
BUT DW really likes this coach....ugh

Thanks to John I traced them down, all numbers disconnected , building tore down and they are no longer anywhere to be found, if anything they may have forwarded their records to Nac. but Service dept/body shop et all cannot find anything so far.. but I am not giving up just yet

As suggested, take a look at the end caps, no cracks, maybe no problem. The solutions are either, when or if it ever happens is re-bond the end caps and repaint as needed. Or, seal and over lay the seams with a trim strip like every Foretravel prior to that build date has. The trim is a simple, easy, and inexpensive repair, some day ahead.

The bladder is a known repair and cost, and good for the next many years, as it a new bladder.
With new batteries, tires, you would be good for the next 7-10 years.

All the other upgrades would be worth doing, and we have done some of them, and have the rest planned in the future. But a Foretravel has good bones, and worth the time and the expense.
TV and satellite upgrades are simple to do, and last for years ahead.
I just did our airbags, at 18 years, and they were way better than I had feared.

You might be committed now, as the wife seems happy, you might be stuck, making her happy.

Get the price as low as you can, add $30,000 for stuff once you buy it. If you are good with what you will have a unit at that point and you can afford that you will probably be very happy. Likely not to cost more than 30 K Possibly less especially if you do some of the work. Call Xtreme paint and graphics in Nacogdoches and they can tell you about how much any endcap work would cost and as previously suggested there are less and more expensive ways to fix that problem if and when it rears its head.
If you love the coach and your unit a few thousand dollars more than you think you should be it's still isn't all that bad a deal.
If I was to buy it however the way I would approach it is to put tires and batteries in it serviced the engine and transmission and drive it to Nacogdoches Texas. By the time you got there you would know everything that needed corrected and anything that didn't correct it could be six in that town.
I still would want to know the bulkheads were fine on that coach before I bought it.

All the "problems" you envision will face you regardless of the couch you buy. Your looking at a 16year old complex machine.
You could end up money ahead buying this one and replacing ALL the items you mention. You can do the remodeling and have the coach you want all updated and still have spent 10's of thousands less than you would for the "perfect" coach.

There is no perfect coach, or if there is, it was sold last month by the kids for the cash. Or you will find it 3 months after you get your's all completely re-done.

Bet I can buy that puppy for under 50k, it's simple, no one in Oregon has any money, by looking at his lot you can see that guy is running on empty.
